While I agree to some degree, you also can regulate who can follow your account if you set it to private. Every follower has to be approved. If you're letting journalists or strangers follow you, you're opening yourself up to that can of worms, especially if you're going to tweet the controversial and racy tweets that Yuri did. I'm not saying that those tweets should not have been made public. I think that's going to be an interesting debate in the future. What I'm saying is that Yuri had the ability to regulate who could view his account, but didn't. He had the ability to regulate what he tweeted, but he didn't. He is clearly not innocent in this regard.

There's really no such thing as a private Twitter. That's the point of Twitter, to not be private. Restricted, maybe, but that doesn't keep it from getting out. This is like posting pictures of you smoking weed on your Facebook and then being surprised when your employer finds it.
Here's an idea: if you want something to be private, don't post it on the Internet.
