Your Votes for M Offensive and Defensive POTY

Submitted by Moleskyn on

So I just got to thinking about this and want to know what the rest of the MGoCommunity thinks as well: out of all the players currently on Michigan's roster (besides Denard and Mike Martin*), who do you think has the potential to win the Maxwell Award (offensive POTY) and the Bednarik Award (defensive POTY)? It doesn't have to be someone to win it this year, since we're talking potential, just someone on the current roster to win his respective award before he graduates.

My votes:

Offense - Devin Gardner (I think he's the logical choice after Denard. Plus, this award has been heavily dominated by QB's lately.)
Defense - Craig Roh (I'm going with history here. It's typically a linebacker or defensive lineman who wins the award and Roh fits right in there. BTW, any idea who was the last defensive back to win the award?)

*I know, I know. How can you call the sun green? The conversation just isn't very fun if you don't take those two out of it.

Offense:  Someone on the O-line, maybe Schilling or Lewan.  This entire group plays so well toghether.

Defense:  either Jonas Mouton or JT Floyd (I am assiming one of them plays more consistantly during the bigten schedule)

Offense: Molk.  No question about this, he blocks well, anchors the line and we regress when he isn't around.

Defense: Mouton. He has his good games and his bad series, but I'm going to convince myself he's going to get better and produce more picks and TFLs every game.

besides Denard, I'm going with the 'O' line, you really can't seperate them. Honorable mention: Micheal Shaw, Roy Roundtree

Defensive POTY, besides Hulk, I'm going to go with a Craig Roh. Honorable mention: JT Floyd, Jonas Mouton.

Offense: Molk, especially given the debacle of snaps from last year in his absence.

Defense: Kovacs due to his read on the ball and ability to fuck shit up. Also, he seems to know how to NOT arm tackle, which is a good thing.

I think you missed the question: I asked who you think, based on the guys on our current roster, has the potential to win either of these awards before they graduate. I agree, it is too early to be speculating about who could win these awards for this year; but that's not what I was asking.

haha, i don't think anyone actually read the question all the way through, or, everyone is messing with the OP, but, i'll play along.

Offensively you almost have to go Devin. Going with Fitz or Roundtree or anyone else is incredibly optimistic and far-fetched, though i'd throw those 2 in as well.

Defensively, Roh is probably the best bet, and i would also throw in CC and Mrob - hey, one can hope!

Here's to a bright future!
