Good for him. Custodians work hard in rough conditions for minimal pay and good treatment. I was pulling for Mary, but if not her, I'm glad it went to a man who works for a living.

Holy smokes, he beat out Mattison for the prize?! Is this a sign? Is Harbaugh unhappy with him? Is he going to blow up the whole defense?!?! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

A very good choice indeed, if you ask me. After all, this guy helps make life much more pleasant for everyone in the department and that is just about the most essential service of them all in any setting like that. Congratulations to Jody and enjoy the trip and the game!

I recognize one of the names on that list, Mary Passink, from Bo's Lasting Lessons. She appears 6 times in the book. Here's one of them:

Mary Passink's job is not to answer the phones. Mary's job is to help us win Big Ten titles, and she does that by being the best executive assistant on campus. Jon Falk's job is not to fit a few hundred helmets every season. His job is to help us win Big Ten titles, and he does that by being the best equipment manager in college football. And when we win the Big Ten title, they get rings, too. (Well, actually, the ladies usually choose to get just the face of the ring on one of those thin gold chains - but you get the idea. Whatever they want. They're champions, too!)
