is that he sounded contrite after the fact, and even a couple weeks later was apologetic about it in newspaper articles.  Then he does this?  What a colossal jerk.

Apart from damages to the stellar reputation most around the country hold for OSU, does this hurt them at all in the eyes of the NCAA? He's still a student there, right? Any sort of sanctions or anything in order? I thought selling autographs was against the rules, but I don't really have any idea.

they'll get in more trouble over the NFL logo compared to the selling of things.  He's a student, yes, but not playing for the team anymore.  But not in the pros yet either.  Given the NCAA's track record on things like this, I don't think they'll lift a finger over it.  Even though I think technically he could/should get in trouble over it, he won't.  Just my guess.

I'm glad the EMU is currently not putting names on their jerseys.  I would not be able to photograph that with making some sort of snarky comment.  But if the not putting names is an English thing and Creighton starts putting names on jerseys, would he have King or Lion King?

And on the topic really at hand...why am I reminded of the final scene in Slap Shot when I see the picture of the Buckeye dude flipping the fans off?

I'm guessing this was bullshit:

"I would like to apologize to The Ohio State University, The University of Michigan, my teammates, my family, the fans and the TV viewing audience for my behavior during yesterday's game. Wearing the scarlet and grey uniform is a privlege and an honor. I let my emotions get the best of me and didn't conduct myself properly in the heat of the moment. My actions do not reflect who I am as a person and teammate. I love The Ohio State University and appreciate everything it has done for me. From the bottom of my heart, I am truly sorry and hope everyone can accept my sincere apology."

The spelling thing is cringeworthy, but I'd be happy for the kid if he makes some coin off this.

Some writer put it so well when he said Hall fulfilled the lifetime fantasy of every OSU fan when he gave the entire Big House the double bird.  It's funny to me.

If he's found a way to part some OSU fans with their money, good on him.  It's such a bonus if they all proudly hang them up without knowing the thing is spelled wrong.

I was so happy to see this.

Living in Ohio and dealing with the idiots that I do I added this to my Facebook page.
Entitled it. "Reason number E why my kids won't be going to Ohio State."

So I get an ex neighbor now living in Texas who suggests I want my kids to have a mediocre football team.
I reply I'd like them to get a notable education.

Then I get the biggest OSU asshat I can think of that I went to high school with.

-I guess that means you have never given anyone the finger in a moment of rage?
- Oh and by the way E is not a number!

Me - Does this prove my point?

- which point? that you don't know the difference between a letter and a number? Or that since you have never used the middle finger, you should be nominated for sainthood?

Me - Your responses are very notable.

- Thank you!

Only in Ohio ladies and gentlemen.

I'll ask the unthinkable - do you ever wish we had a different rival? They're easy to hate and they are lower life forms, but do we really want to put up with this? Hypothetical.
