Yost Student Seating

Submitted by tdcarl on

So my friend and fellow mgoblogger and I are trying to grab some student tickets to at least one game within Yost this year. We have found 2 student tickets available for the Notre Dame game on Saturday, but they are in 2 diffferent sections. One of them is in section 15 while the other is in section 20. Section 15 is along the sides and 20 is in the endzone(?) area so I was just wondering how difficult it would be for us to sit (aka stand) together in either of these sections?

It's not difficult at all.  Usually they don't check tickets once you get into Yost.  Though they have started to get someone stricter in the past year and for big games I still think you can get around it.

pretty easy to sit wherever you want in the student section. I suggest sitting with the craziest bunch in section 17. You will have the chance to unveil the giant swedish flag.

fair enough, I have been sitting in section 17 with my friends for the past couple years. I don't mind if n00bs sit there as long as they are open to learning the cheers and dances for each song.

Obviously, you sit in my section. I am usually in row 8 or so. You would recognize me as the Darth Vader from the Halloween ferris game...

Yea, I'm the short girl with the fluffy hat in the front row with the same guys I've been sitting with since I was a freshman, and we've been having problems with unenthusiastic people without season tickets taking up lots of space and being generally useless, occasionally blocking my view when they come and go for snacks IN THE MIDDLE OF PLAYS WORTH WATCHING and quickly driving me mad. And seriously, if you're in the front row and don't even stand up to dance, just gtfo before I kick you in the shins. Were you there that night where that pack of girls were basically treating it like a football game? Not fun.

However the non-obnoxious are more than welcome if they are actually willing to learn cheers, etc, like you said.

And PS if you didn't hear we should have a new flag this weekend.

yeah, I was there. I was about to come down and donkey punch those girls in the back of the head. That is primarily the reason I don't sit in my official in my official seats in section 15. That section is loaded with students that treat yost like it is the big house.

I heard about the new flag at the beginning of the season, I didn't know it was going to debut this weekend. Now I have a decision of whether to have a five year reunion bar crawl of w. lafayette, IN or sprint my ass back to A2 for the Saturday ND game.

I would suggest not sitting within the first six rows at center ice. Reserved for parents and family and friends of the players, and they are generally late arriving and they will get ushers to kick you out of their seats.
