I wish they would do East/West, 9 games, 2 cross-division rivals, rotate 2 on and 2 off. That would mean that Michigan's schedule would always have OSU, MSU, PSU, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, and one more (Nebraska?). Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, and Northwestern get to keep playing each other every year. PSU could start playing Iowa every year. I think it's an all around winner.

I doubt that will happen, so I would have to say that David Fox's answer is best.

My mind instantly shuts off anytime I read any proposal that has Michigan and Ohio State in different divisions, especially when they propose not only splitting them up, but moving the end of the year game to earlier in the season. I, for one, don't think theres any way that The Game will ever occur outside the last weekend (before the championship), and there's no way they'd have it set up for us to play two weeks in a row.

I agree completely with your thoughts.  I can't fathom why some people just don't get it when discussing division breakdowns for the Big Ten, that there is no way in hell that they put Michigan and Ohio State in different divisions.  The Big Ten is probably the most tradition-rich of the BCS conferences and to take their biggest rivalry and possibly lessen it by having it played more than once a year is idiotic.  The more I think about it, the more the divisions will be broke up right down the the Lake Michigan, Indiana/Illinois border and have East and West divisions.  The Penn State moving to the West with most often Northwestern moving to the East is a scenario that I really like, but not sure how PSU will feel about this scenario though.  Still as they dont have a natural rivalry yet, just manufactured ones, they might be amendable to creating a rivalry with Nebraska.  This also leaves room for one guaranteed crossover game a year with PSU playing OSU as that seems to be a growing rivalry between them.  In this scenario too, we can start to play Minnesota again each year as well.

Olin Buchanan's an idiot...

"In the East, it would be Penn State, Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue,Northwestern and Illinois. The West would have Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota."

Indiana, Northwestern and Illinois in ONE division? This scenario is a cakewalk for PSU and OSU every year...
