Yahoo! Sports is a... Michigan homer??

So I've yet to actually check the polls until today - mostly because I don't really care anymore, I just want us to play hard every single game, which will hopefully result in W's - and I noticed that the Yahoo user rankings had UM at #5!!! "Pardon?" I remarked with a bewildered look on my face. I then refreshed the page as I had assumed the nerves that connect my eyes to my brain were deceiving me. But no, lo and behold, UM had climbed 20 POSITIONS up to #5. Now, I love UM and think this team is pretty good. But there is NO WAY they are the #5 team. Yes, I realize that this is based on Yahoo! user rankings, but it is still "inconceivable" (name that movie) to me that so many people could rank UM that high, even given their success this season. If it's a joke or sorts, awesome, I applaud it. BUT, if that many UM fans think our team is worthy of that ranking, I'm pretty sure they're drinking a bit too much of the blue kool-aid. Whatever the case may be, I found it intriguing and thought I would share. Thoughts?? EDIT: Also, PSU is #1. Words fail me on that one, I'll leave it to others to comment on that.

Who can you think of that had a bigger performance than Tate? Tate's a freshman and created key play after key play while not making too many mistakes that an upperclassman wouldn't make (or at least his total number of mistakes could be characteristic of an upperclassman).

The Yahoo user rankings aren't really "rankings" in the conventional sense. What they do is give repeated head-to-head matchups of all the teams and have you vote who would win in each game. So I guess it's more of a power poll than rankings.

it's a popularity poll for the most part, since your average internet user is more likely to vote for his favorite team than make an actual honest assessment of who they think the best team is. Note that Ohio State is way down at #22. This is because, while they have plenty of fans, most of them don't know how to operate a computer.
