Yahoo Reports Bush to be Stripped of Heisman

Submitted by van on

The Heisman Trophy Trust is expected to strip former University of Southern California star running back Reggie Bush of college football’s top honor by the end of September, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Bush would become the first player in the 75-year history of the award to have the trophy taken away. The NCAA found major violations in the Trojans’ football program in June and levied serious sanctions against the school.

Chris Fowler is on ESPN right now saying this report is completely false.  He said the Heisman Trust might be talking about what to with the trophy that USC sent back as part of their sanctions, but they aren't stripping Bush of his title or asking for his trophy back.

At least not yet.

Not to sound too anti-USC, but I wish the worst on them in future years.  The whole show down there just has always stunk.  Pete Caroll takes off JUST before it hits the fan.  And then USC hires Lane who is also being investigated by the NCAA at Tennessee for appointing women "tour guides" for the potential recruits.  They deserve what they get.  GO BLUE!!

I don't feel sorry for him one bit.  The kid knew what he was doing was wrong, but he didn't care.  That entire USC team should be stripped of its National Championships and wins during that time as well.  Who knows how many players on that team were getting some kind of financial assistance, Bush, couldn't have been the only one.
