Xavier Kelly set to announce Friday

Title says it all as he stated on Twitter. Looks like he's decided. “I just felt like it was a family environment and I love all the coaches and I felt it was the best for me and good football.” However since then, there's been a steady flow of crystal balls for him to Clemson including Steve Wiltfong.

In the old neighborhood I used to live in (mind you, this is in Kentucky) - there was this awesome, hole-in-the-wall neighborhood bar that had basically free beer ($1 drafts) and flat screen TVs for Saturday football games.

The thing I remember most about that time in my life was the one Clemson fan who would ALWAYS show up to get piss drunk and yell "DAAAHHHHHHH-BOOOWWWWWW" throughout the game.  He sure was swell.

(Point being, is I'm sure your fans yell obnoxiously.  I've seen it numerous times at a fucking bar in Kentucky.)

Every fan of every team makes all of these same statements about why their school is better, and totally clean too.

Fact is the athletes are picking between heavens. Most campuses are beautiful. Most support staff are top notch. FBS coaches are among the top 200 in their profession. NFL talent comes out of so many schools that which coaches develop a position best has to mean less than what that individual player is made of (not that it doesn't matter, especially w/ quarterbacks). A little something extra makes a big difference because there isn't much difference between schools.

As for fans, this site's existence when every other indie team site but 11 Warriors can't support even one blogging career speaks to something unique about Michigan fans' dedication. I have a hard time imagining there could ever be a Grantland for Just Clemson.

Depending on what section you sit in though I'm sure you can encounter some pretty quiet old farts in Michigan Stadium. We even have a name for them: Blue hairs.

Clemson is terrible but not as bad as Columbia. I've had the displeasure of several work trips to both universities in my former life and they are full of Baxter's, Trey's, Maddens, Coltons and every other conceivable southern backwoods douche.

posted here about his post being deleted with the link to your board. Your board had posts from him, hoping to get encouragement from others for the great  job he did on the original post and saying it was deleted here. The post was there if he looked a little before getting his panties in a bunch.

At least I didn't set up an account on your board to cry about people being mean.

It amazes me sometimes, the comments that are posted on this board.

  1. Kelly has lived in Kansas for the last couple of years but spent the majority of his childhood in Savannah GA. If you know your geography, you should assume why Clemson interests him.
  2. Kelly's Dad has an affinity for Michigan (not him). His Dad grew up in Detroit and  played basketball at Wayne State before joining the USAF
  3. If not for Detroit connections (Tommy Wilcher and Germaine Crowell) Michigan may not have gotten as far in as it did.
  4. Clemson is the next best option for the dad. Great program and able to see him reguarly.

If a kid grew up in Georgia (boarding South Carolina) why couldn't he grow up a fan of Clemson? Why is it evertyime Michigan loses a recruit there's something "shady" going on?

I've been following college football forums for more than a decade. I've rarely seen the type of butthurt that's appeared in this thread in all my years of scouring the Internet.

Keep it classy, bros. Clearly, the only reason a recruit would want to go to Clemson over Michigan is because of moral improprieties and underhanded tactics on Clemson's part. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Michigan hasn't done anything of relevance since getting beat by an FCS school in their own stadium.

Pay close attention to what's happening down in SC and go ahead and acknowledge that the butthurt and gnashing of teeth will only get worse as you come to accept the reality of the situation ----  Clemson is a better place to play football than Michigan.
