I think it's a wallaby.  And yeah, it's legal to own them.  My parents owned one.  But they also traveled to schools to teach animal science programs.  M childhood was certainly unique.  We had all sorts of crazy animals, and they were all housed on our property.

One of my chores growing up was to feed a Patagonian Cavy.

Our wallaby was pretty cool.  It's comparable to a dog in personality.

...you can't get a kangaroo in the U.S. without a permit.

coldnjl....mature decision or immature decision to purchase a wallaby as a college student and college athlete? I don't want to make assumptions here, as I have never personally owned a marsupial, and don't know from personal experience like owning a boa constrictor?

I'm not sure if thats legal but I know there is a place in Ann Arbor that houses a lot of animals that college kids buy and then realize they can't take care of. They have wallabys, sloths, snakes, etc. I hope Wyatt got a manual for the Kangaroo.

What's the over/under on how long he keeps it? And when he gets rid of it, is it because Washtenaw County animal control confiscates it, or is it because the thing gets too unwieldly he can't take care of it anymore?

JH: I don't even understand what that means. Like a marsupial? Explain that to me. Explain that to me.
WS: I got a hook-up at the LPS and this guy was like I got you...here is a Kangaroo.
JH: Ok. You got to own it...keep it in a tidy box.
