WTKA/Michigan Football Takeover for Mott Hospital Friday May 18

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

Don't know if this will still be up in the morning, but thought it more important for people to remember it and tune in than find out about it at the last minute. (Someone can start an open thread if they're that interesting tomorrow morning). But tomorrow is the day that football takes over WTKA all day long to earn money for Mott Hospital.

The line-up is as follows-

Those who aren't in listening distance, www.wtka.com has streaming audio, podcasts to catch up later, and their own App in iTunes (not sure about Android store).

But if you want to donate and can't call or tune in, you can already do so on their webpage-

http://giving.umich.edu/mott/takeover.html

And funds will already be matched. If you're wondering "why?"

(Please Section 1 don't call Charles at 11 am)

Though we might need to get Hoke to play some on the line.

QBs- Griese, Henson, Dreisbach (hasn't been THAT long since they played)

RB- Hart (only one year out)

H-back- Shea (who could do some tight end since we'll probably need those guys on the line)

WR - AA, Bellamy (at least one still around the League)

TE- Timmy, Campbell, Tuman

OL-Hutch, Everitt, Long (when they're that good, maybe you only need 3)

DL-Steele

LB-Dhani, Irons (Dhani's probably still in playing shape...Irons, maybe not)

DB- Marlin, Woodson, Hall, Trent (wow.  Even have two who can play safety. Nto that it matters...no one is throwing on them).

K- Jay and Remy.

The Lloyd Carr ringtone is just silence.  Your phone can "ring" in church or a movie theatre and no one will care....

How the hell am I supposed to get any work done tomorrow?  It's bad enough I have the softball distraction starting in late afternoon, now I have this stellar lineup to listen to all day?

I urge anyone and everyone to please donate to motts. Motts is an amazing place. My niece was born there 4 months ago with nonfunctioning kidneys and only had about a 10% chance of making it out of the womb. The doctors and nurses got her out and got the kidneys removed. She's still going strong today. The care is second to none. My niece is slated to come home in either late July or August. For what the people at motts has done for my family, there is no donation large enough to thank them. I know everyone here cares about the players and coaches on air but its really all about the kids and the hospital.

bump

At this very moment Section One is glue to the radio, hoping, praying, for a comment that doesn't imply RR was the greatest coach in the history of M football, excusing him to start a new thread.

He sure is a nice guy when he knows the questions will be soft.  Anyway, it is all a big fundraiser, for a truly fantastic cause?  Don't look to me to cause any trouble, or to make any gratuitous references to Rich Rodriguez.  That's Mark Snyder's job.

(btw I loved Sam Webb's reference to Angelique Chengelis as something like "one of the few reporters I read and believe..."  True that one, brother.)

Oh, but what would a day be without the Freep?  Today on the Craig Fahle Show at 10 am on WDET-FM (Detroit):  Michael Rosenberg will be Craig's guest.  Be sure to submit your hate-mail to Craig and his producers Joan Isabella and Amy Miller at their Facebook page or at: http://www.wdetfm.org/shows/craig-fahle-show/

Goodbye, Rosenberg.  You despicable, disreputable, hateful lying prick.  Don't ever come back to defame our University again.

That you never say anything snarky about Lloyd Carr.

Although it was a perfect illustration. You could tell he didn't think it was a great idea. He wouldn't endorse it.  He'd just say whatever they want to do....  Sounds familiar.

As such a hero of Michigan's honor, I hope you've made your donation by now.

I agree.  But, I tend to forgive but not forget Lloyds role in the crisis.  I believe that Lloyd  probably had his reasons and I can respect that after all he has done for the school.  Rosenberg is another issue.  But, I will keep that to myself.

Donate to Mott, and I plan on listening to the podcast when I get home.

My favorite story of the day is Jay Feely predicting Bubba Watson was going to win the Masters.

Steve Everitt is on now along with some others, not sure who, but Everitt does not sound anything at all like the guy roaming the sidelines UTL

Charles Woodson on as well
