My OSU fan roommate will get a kick out of this (I go to school in Ohio, naturally)!

I doubt any OSU/MSU grads

I doubt any OSU/MSU grads even read the WSJ, so there will probably be no drama.

That's funny as shit though.

Long story

Made sense for me to go there, but that doesn't mean I don't fucking hate every one of their teams and fans with every fiber of my being.  My friends were cool with it and actually went to bat for me on any occasion that my fan affiliation caused problems, so I guess that should be commended.

Same story

here.  I just like the fact that there's a facebook group for UM fans who go/went to tOSU.  Like you my friends were cool with it but then again most of my friends were smart fans - not the ones that made Herbie move.

Yeah

I actually found the worst fans to be the people that never went there.  It's without a doubt the worst experience for an opposing fan that I've ever been around, they're absolutely classless.

I remember we took our buddy to AA for the Mich/Osu game in 07.  He was worried to wear his jersey because his only college football experiences were home games in cbus.  He commented several times that he was amazed by "how nice everyone is".  I tried to explain to him that it was how actual people act, I'm not sure if it got through.

This is something that could never happen at UM -- a UM student OSU fan club!  Not possible.  What does this say about tOSU?

This reminds me of the time I edited a Wikipedia article on something because, in a section listing the several universities relevant to whatever the topic was, it listed MSU before UM.

I reversed the order and I think Wikipedia is better for it.

Even more amusing considering

Even more amusing considering Wisconsin is #45 and OSU is #56.   They should have said "Top 55" to make the dig more blatant.

I'm not sure, but I think I was the guy who tipped James off.

I have a comment to that effect in OpinionJournal online, from the day that it was published.  James gets a lot of emails, I know.  And I expect that I was not the only guy to remind him.  But he has used tips from me before in The Best of the Web, so he knows who I am.

Dissing OSU and MSU really isn't all that challenging.  When you think about it, the job pretty much does itself.

And, for the record... I am also assuming we ARE in the top 50?
