Writer calls Michigan fans "Biggest Losers in America"

Submitted by dothepose on

Just another article about speculating where Harbaugh will end up, what makes this one different is this guy straight up calls us the "biggest losers in America". A few bad apples decided to lash out at him on Twitter for thinking he'll stay in the NFL. He says he receieved "close to 100 tweets", there are easily over a million Michigan fans, way to lump the 0.1% with the rest of the fans.

Yeah, my girlfriend  thinks I'm the biggest loser in the world right now too. Thing is, outsiders simply cannot fathom the gravity of what's going on right now. In my eyes, this is potentially the biggest thing to happen to Michigan football since 1997.

I'm sure we Michigan fans really do look somewhat bizarre to the rest of the sporting world. For example, this board seems far more obsessed over the coaching search than it was the past two times.

On the other hand, we've watched the greatest program in America become sub-mediocre, and as proud fans, expectations that we took for granted have been crushed for 6 of the last 7 years. We're worried about the future of the program. We urgently want it to be fixed.

Some have crossed the line of civility into craziness from all this, and it hasn't helped that the NFL know-it-alls have pooh-poohed the most important coaching search Michigan has undertaken since it hired Fielding Yost.

They'll forget about how crazy we've gotten, and I hope what they'll remember is how quickly Harbaugh turned our program around.

Happy holidays!

Just like I don't care about people calling Michigan "thirsty" for tweeting birthday wishes, yesterday. And damn right I'm parched! Last season, I saw camels playing in the Big House with sand dunes in the distance. I've been experiencing hallucations of a Harbaugh oasis ever since.

WFAN, NY sports talk radio B-team windbags, Kim Jones, who couldn't tell the difference between a hockey puck and a hot rock with her equally ill-inform gasbag, Marc Malusis, this morning were bashing and derisive of UM going after JH.

They mocked the JH Bday card as UM starving/hard-up. They continued and ridiculed the university (Hackett) as stupid for and unnecessarily hiring the same excutive search firm the Jets used to hire its currently embatteld GM. These two clowns clearly have no idea how a search firm works - i.e. who is responsbile for the actual hire and literally no insight into UM.

They argued just get a football guy to hire a coach - hmm how did that just work out.  And before that we had an executive-type hiring a coach - that went well.

I just love how everyone just keeps piling on.

This is just an atrocious article. First he completely judges an entire fan base through TWITTER accounts- people on Twitter are known to be the most rude/asinine people in the world due to it being fairly anonymous-then continues to spew the NFL bullshit about how Jim never even thought about the Michigan job until two weeks ago. Man, how do people like this have jobs?

This guy is a jerk. Mr. Sensitive's Twitter feed is just baiting for UM fans.

The he gets bothered when they bite. To me writing off one of the biggest fan bases in college football over 100 tweets is just more click bait.

Sir, I didn't know you before this search. I thought you were a rabble rousing demagogue during it, and I'm done with you now.

I am a big fan of guys like Mike O'hara. Guys like this? Whatever. He gets a click ban like Sharp. Not because he might be right or wrong, but rather becUse he revels in being a dick.

Why are you doing this guy's trolling for him by re-posting this crap?  It's not like Pete Thamel or Dan Wetzel called out Michigan fans.  National Football Post is worse than Bleacher Report, if that's even possible.

Yet another writer who's feeble mind extrapolates the entirety of a fanbase from its fringe few.  We all tend to generlize in order to add simplicity and structure to an otherwise infinitely complex world, but when you're talking about writing off entire groups of ppl based upon the actions of a few?

I PUT IT TO YOU GREG!  YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT US, BUT WE'RE NOT GOING TO SIT AROUND HERE AND LISTEN TO YOU BADMOUTH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

GENTLMEN!
