Wrestling Hello: Mason Paris

Submitted by TheTeamTheTeam… on
Mason Paris the #1 ranked (and top 10 P4P) 220lb. Wrestler committed to Michigan today, joining Joey Silva and Will Lewan. Class grows more and more impressive each month. McFarland/Bormet are really killing it on the recruiting trail! *cue can he play RT/QB/WR*

that wrestling skills translated very well to linebacking and D line.

I had to fight alot of negative impressions from football coaches who actively discouraged their kids from wrestling.

Wrestling teaches leverage and level change. Both are essential components to line play in general and tackling. Most football coaches are ignorant to what wrestling teaches, and just focuses on weight loss. What baffles me is why they don't focus on good weight loss and the core strength that wrestling helps with.

Another big pickup for the wrestling program. We need these elite level guys to compete with Penn State, Iowa, and OSU. Lots of momentum right now.

This is becoming a very impressive recruiting class.

A big reason Paris has to have looked at is the departure of All-American HWT Adam Coon after this year. There will be a gap for a big-time HWT wrestler right away, which obvious Paris provides.

If Coon decides to stick around with the CKWC after his career at Michigan (for Olympic reasons), that'll be another huge resource for Paris' development at UofM.
