Wreck of the Patrick Fitzgerald

Submitted by Red_Lee on

Haven't done GIFs in a while so I'm a little rusty, thought I'd come back with some sound (and not quite a GIF).

There's the MSU photoshop thread but I feel like we should do NU photoshops for the first half of this week to celebrate that destruction.

Did anyone see the clip of Rutger's interim coach firing up the team by tapping them with a piece of paper on the shoulder?  It was strange....he wen't down the entire line of defensive players gently tapping them.

I can make fun of any coach...because, why the hell not?

But I just felt the need to say, I really like Fitz. He comes to Harbaugh's camp, he's always been a class act, he wins with less. I love that Ross went over to shake his hang upon exiting the field on Saturday.

to take the good with the bad as far as pressers are concerned. If you win there a snap, lose and you can be deep fried by the end of it . That man was perfectly respectful and in listening to what he said he has earned my respect for coach Fitz as a person not just a coach. Even though he was kinda incorrect about our teams eligebility in saying that UM was a Sr. filled roster. I do agree there are some Sr players but there are just as many underclassmen though and his team on the other hand is full of Sr's.

Anyway its Staee weak and the Salvation Army stores have been put on alert for Green people looking for a cheap couch. So Go Blue!

Northwestern will probably never be a permanent power in the B10 and if he can get and keep NW regulrly in bowl games (which, for the most part he has) he will be happy with NW and NW will be happy with him.

Saturday's game was an anamoly, overall; MW will eb just fine and probably win 6-8 games and go to a nice bowl.

Gave James Ross a rap on the Helmet as he was leaving the game after being ejected and found Rudock right away at mid field to congratulate him.  Fitz later commented that he was glad Rudock was graduating so that he couldn't beat them again.  Very complimentary after the game.

The jumping jack move in 2012 comes to mind.  But I don't think he's a bad guy, and he seems honest.  He already has more career wins than any other coach at Northwestern, while noting that's a low hurdle.  Unless he does something really weird he could be a 30+ year guy in that job.  How weird would that be in today's game?

There are only 13 current D-I head coaches who've been in their current jobs longer than Pat.  Only two of them are under 55 (Mike Gundy and Bronco Mendenhall).  Most are over 60.

Fun fact: 66 D-I teams have hired a new head coach in the past three years.

Often cited as one on the greatest films of all time. Welles produced, directed, starred and co-wrote this film which is based in part on his potrayal of the life of William Randolph Hearst. The cinematography was way ahead of its time and even though it was made during WW2 it is still entertaining and relevant today. Definitely worth checking out.
