the Lions still have not had a ProBowl QB since Greg Landry. I would imagine that if one of the three drops out (Rogers / Brees in the Super Bowl?) then Stafford will be under consideration with Alex Smith for a replacement pick.

Stafford had a great year, but they'll probably say that Manning got it because of his clutchness, and Stafford was clutch too, and the lack of weapons. They've had a lot of injuries on offense, a mediocre O-line, and a pretty bad running game. He's had to put the offense on his back this year. I think Stafford definitely has a legitimate claim, but I don't think numbers capture what Manning has done this year. I'm a Giants fan and this has probably been one of his most impressive seasons, despite making some boneheaded throws from time to time.

However, I don't get how Antonio Gates made the Pro Bowl when Aaron Hernandez has 13 more receptions and 100 more yards receiving. Is there a quota on players on the same team who play the same position? Whatever. As many of the Pats players have already said, Plan A) Indy Plan B) Hawaii.
