It is great to see Michigan and particularly Nik Stauskas get this level of recognition for the season that he has been having. That, and two Wooden Award winners in a row from Ann Arbor? Yes, I believe I will. That sounds like a wonderful idea to me.

I don't think there's any chance McDermott doesn't win it, but that's an incredible achievement nonetheless for Stauskas. Who would've prdicted this for him in September? Not me

Too bad if he should win it will undoubtably be accompanied by an asterisk to explain that the only reason he won was because the far more deserving candidates at State had been injured.

As others have noted, this is McDermott's award, but to be one of the two representatives from arguably the top conference in the country is pretty amazing.  What's also pretty amazing is that you could argue Caris is just as valuable to this team's success, and that speaks very well for the future in the even Nik leaves.  Still, my money is on him hearing from scouts that he isn't a lock for the lottery and possibly returning, as the draft doesn't appear nearly as loaded next year.

...He won't win, but back to back B1G POY is nothing to sneeze at. We should be recruiting some big time players with that nugget in our back pocket.

Is that a joke? Harris has had a rough season, his shooting percentages are way down. His defense has not been very good either although the meme is still strong in the media. Harris is a low efficiency high volume shooter.

Harris has shot the ball 376 times this season with 158 made baskets.

Stauskas has shot the ball 296 times with 145 made baskets.

Stauskas has outscored Harris 485 to 478 while taking 80 less shots!!!
