The women's basketball team beat #12 OSU at Crisler to start off the Big Ten season with a bang. I thought we all could use some non-CC, non-Tate news.
Women's hoops upsets OSU, 64-51
Congrats to the Wolverines - a big upset. Totally appropriate to focus on something positive in light of the recent news.
An even bigger upset about to happen on ESPN2
Great news! Anytime we beat the Bucks in anything I'm happy. Thank you for posting something that isn't God awful.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior guard Veronica Hicks (Chicago, Ill./Thornwood) and junior guard/forward Carmen Reynolds (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) each tallied 17 points to help the University of Michigan women's basketball team snap a 14-game losing streak to rival Ohio State with a 64-51 win on Thursday (Dec. 30) at Crisler Arena. The triumph is U-M's first over the Buckeyes since the 2001 season and marks Michigan's second consecutive win in its Big Ten opener.
Catching OSU in a funk and taking advantage of it. Way to go!
Beating OSU is always good and the hockey pulls one out.
Congrats to all!!!
Of all those Stanford coach to Michigan rumors.
Good win for the lasses
Beating OSU at anything is always nice.
Two women's basketball topics on the first page of the board...Christmas miracle?
Yeah, who knew I'd comment on two Womens basketball threads tonight?
Michigan hadn't beaten OSU in women's hoops since 2001. It was good to see - OSU was frustrated and lost their compsure a few times during the game. A more talented team was beaten by one that played together and overcame adversity (including the loss of one of their starters, Nya Jordan). Congrats to the lady wolverines.
WOO! FUCK THE BUCKEYES!
55-68 on 22Dec seems to have given them a great boost! Their play through the season has been a bit inconsistant, but when they crank up the D, they generally win. Kate Thompson chipped in 16 from the bench, including 3 for 3 beyond the arc about midway through the 1st half to push the M lead up to a point the Buckeyes couldn't catch. The 16 are her personal best!
