Wolverines in the UFL???

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on
Anybody know if any of the former Michigan players who got cut from NFL teams like Mike Hart or Terrance Taylor signed on with that new UFL football league??? The only former Wolverine I had heard of was Matt Lentz.

Probably as many as are on CFL teams, which is really disturbingly low. Actually, I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not. But I do know trying to find a CFL team to root for is really, really hard.

I always liked Todd Collins. God forbid someone try to show the guy some love. FTR, I always thought that Todd was the superior Collins when both were in college, as illogical as it seemed. I was 11.

each team ought to have a focused plan of signing guys from a single college or conference, and make the league some kind of real life WhatIfSports proving ground for all of the unresolved college football arguments. or hell, the UFL could adopt that strategy and see if it works.

The AAFL release stated that a player "must, without exception, have earned a four-year degree or more advanced degree to be eligible to play in League games." The release added that other players would be invited to try out "in the hopes that the opportunity will inspire them to complete their education". if you've already got the degree there is no incentive to work for $50,000 a season.
