Wolverines in Bears v Raiders

Submitted by TSWC on
Hi y'all. I just got back from the Bears v. Raiders game in Chicago. I thought I'd give you some info about the Wolverines trying to make both teams: Stevie Brown: Trying to make the Raiders squad as a safety. He didn't see the field at all during the 1st half, but played just about all of the 2nd half. He had a great INTERCEPTION against LeFevour with an excellent run back, maybe 40 odd yards. Most other plays I didn't see him in the mix too much. On at least one play it looked to me like he hesitated way too long on a run play. Also a plus for him: the safety that started the game in the middle (Michael Huff, Texas grad) got humiliated by Bears starting RB Forte on an 80+ yard run--Forte didn't even have to slow down, Huff just got burned crispy. Greg Matthews: Trying to make the Bears squad at WR. Didn't play at all in the first half. Played on the kick return team in the second half. Tried to dive on a muffed punt return (muffed by another player, not Matthews) and failed, then tried to convince the refs of something to no avail (Raiders dived on it in the endzone for 6). I don't think I saw him on the field at all as a receiver. B. Minor: Trying to make the Bears squad as a RB. I don't think he made the field at all. Other notes: Minor spent the entire game standing next to and chatting with fellow UM man Matt Gutierrez (who never saw the field either). Matthews spent the entire game standing next to and chatting with Freddie Barnes (WR, fellow rookie and Bowling Green grad). I don't think I saw Minor and Matthews say a word to each other, which surprised me but probably doesn't mean anything. That's it. I tried to kept a close watch on the Michigan guys, but I could've missed something for sure. Also, this is my first attempt to start a thread after hanging around the board for a year or so, so if I'm doing something wrong, my apologies. Go Blue!
