Wolverines in the 2017 NFL Draft
A lot has been said about the pure quantity of Ohio State Players that will be taken in this years draft. While Michigan will likely only have a couple of players taken, 2017 is setting up to have the most wolverines drafted in a single year in a long time. This reflects well on Harbaugh and staff that our players are finally being developed properly. Frankly, the NFL needs an influx of wolverines as our numbers seem to be dwindling.
In my opinion, our sure fire draft picks(and my guess at where they could fall) are...
OFFENSE
Jake Butt- Rounds 1-2
Jehu Chesson- Rounds 2-5
DEFENSE
Chris Wormley- Rounds 2-5
Willie Henry(If he doesn't leave this year)- Rounds 2-5
Ryan Glasgow-Rounds 3-6
Jourdan Lewis- Rounds 1-2
Jabril Peppers (please stay one more year)- Rounds 1-2
There are also a number of possible draft picks.
SLEEPERS
Amara Darboh- Rounds 6-7
Deveon Smith- Rounds 6-7
Taco Charlton- Rounds 5-7
Dymonte Thomas(projecting a bit due to massive improvements made this year)- Rounds 6-7
Minimum 5 draft picks, Maximum 11!
Thoughts on who will be drafted and what round?

Charlton's a stretch.

you have never had a Bean Burrito from T-Bell. Those will stretch. It is very weird, and then very delicious.

Yeah, but he is called taco not burrito.
January 4th, 2016 at 4:41 PM ^
But the NFL doesn't want a soft Taco. Or a soft Butt for that matter.

I think NFL types could fall in love with his size and athletic ability, even though he is not a polished player.
January 4th, 2016 at 3:09 PM ^
If he starts for one full year...he'll get every bit of an opportunity. Because you're right, the measureables are there.

All of this talk about tacos, burritos, and mexi-melts certainly has me drooling.

Hmmmmm, how many chickens do I have? Well, they haven't hatched yet, but let's count anyway!!!

Which players do you think he's got pegged wrong? Chesson before Round 4 may be a bit optimistic (although I bet he'd test great in the combine), and Darboh and Smith seem like UDFA's to me. The rest seem like pretty good guesses though.

He gets to play 2 seasons, no?

He's got two years of eligibility left.

I'm glad that Jake, of all people, is returning. He was excellent in 2015 and should be better this year, assuming we have a good quarterback.

I hereby predict that Taco Charlton will play at least 5 years in the NFL. And by play I mean not on scout teams.
I think his jump next year will lbe immense.
His jump this year was large.

Defensive linemen play better next to star defensive linemen, not worse, because the offense can only double-team one guy.

Charlton almost certainly is drafted because the NFL loves to take raw hyper talented players in hopes they can develop them. Smith has roughly a 0% of being drafted though. Darboh is a toss up but will definitely be signed for a tryout.

I bet Glasgow will get drafted as a C. He really showed some promise in the Bowl game. Late round kid I think.
January 4th, 2016 at 3:46 PM ^
Graham Glasgow and Jarrod Wilson should be drafted somewhere, and Ojemudia, Jenkins-Stone, and Desmond Morgan will at least get looks in camp.

At this point, I do not see Braden, Kalis, or Magnusson getting drafted. Maybe they will improve greatly. I think the line will be better, but still far from dominant.

Yes. Next question.

We graduate 4 offensive linemen. You really don't expect a single one of them to be drafted? They have certainly struggled with consistency (which is kind of understandable given the situation) but I don't think physical talent is really in question for any of them.
