Wisky close to advancing to Sweet 16

Leading Oregon by 5 with .6 seconds left Edit: A little pushing by the Ducks at the end. Frustration at falling short, I suppose. Wisky hits free throws and wins 85-77.

If I am not mistaken, this is Klingon in its transliterated glory. Assuming that it is, then I have to say that this is the only blog in the Big Ten where I am not at all surprised that something would eventually be translated into Klingon, if I am wrong, then yeah, we might need a drinking appreciation thread for this post alone.

As much as I hate to, I had to cheer for Sparty to make the Sweet Sixteen, too.  Thanks to iowa, Ohio State and Nebraska, it was important that at least three Big Ten teams make the Sweet Sixteen to keep the conference getting at least six bids and hopefully more next year.

I am guessing it ends for Sparty vs Virginia, but Wiscy and Michigan could give the Big Ten two teams in the Elite Eight.  Duke getting eliminated made Michigan's "terrible draw" look pretty good.

But, as always, you never know how games in a single elimination tournament will work out.

I hate to say it but Virginia does not match up well against MSU, unfortunately I think the Izzo streak of making a final four appearance every 4 years will continue. I do believe Florida beat them in the final four.

Only easy teams until the sweet 16 and Duke loses to bad teams all of the time in the tournament.  Even our elite 8 match up is pretty good.  Better to play Wichita State than Florida or Arizona and probably some 2 seeds like Wisconsin.  It'd be a gift to play Louisville and that's not that unlikely.
