GRIII will be back next year. No way he is drafted in the first two rounds. "Athletic" only gets you so far. For a guy with wheels, he really moves poorly on defense.
We need to figure out how to defend bigs by denying them the ball in the first instance. Once they get it low, we are neither big nor strong enough to stop them. Get better at this fast, or we'll need to shoot 60+% to beat Sparty

about GRIII, in that people think he's fast. He's not. He's got a slow first step on offense and doesn't have quick feet on defense. Notice that he usually guarded by a guy much larger and seemingly slower than him, but he can rarely get into the lane. Part of that is his weak handle, but part of that is his speed. He can jump high and has some good moves to finish once he's at the rim (not just dunks, but lay-ups around defenders and so on), but he isn't a complete athlete who can just out outrun, outjump, and outmove guys.

From what I've seen this board is taking a fifteen point defecit at home in the first half pretty well. Did you see this board during the Indiana game? That might have been overreacting. This all seems pretty reasonable given the circumstances

Enough of the shitting on GR3 if you're not willing to look at other players either.
Stauskas has been just as bad, if not worse. LeVert is failing at playing hero. Irvin has chucked with total disregard to anything. Morford has been Lessford.
At least GR3 is battling amonst guys much bigger than him for rebounds. The last 10 minutes GR3 was a big part of slowing down the slaughter.

playing pretty well. We'd be down 20+ without him. MorFord isn't good, but no one in their right mind thought either of them were going to be offensive stalwarts. Irvin taken what, three shots? He's a 3 point shooter put in the game for the sole purpose of sparking offense with his shooting. Stauskas is the only one who is close to GR3's level of shitting the bed today.
**Update: 4 minutes into the second half Stauskas, LeVert and Morgan are all playing much better. GR3's contribution: late help and a goaltend.**
