I think the staff needs more Peppers plays in its pocket for emergency situations like today where nothing is working. They only had the zone read series and that old pitch play that didn't work. I would have liked to see more Peppers in this game, because he can make a big play that makes a difference in a tight spot like this.

Can someone explain to me the logic behind running the ball versus just taking a knee on that last drive? Doing the math on the time, if Speight had just walked back for a few seconds and taken a knee, that's a far less risky proposition than running the ball and risking the fumble. The math completely lined up to run out the clock with 3 plays.

What was up with the multiple four men in the backfield offensive formation penalties? I didn't see the replays but would love to know if they were similar illegal formations or what happened..

Have to say I wasn't too impressed with the offensive play calling. It was very predictable, didn't get Chesson involved and only threw to Butt on 3 yard routes. Seemed like they had zero interest in going down the field or opening up the offense when they really needed touchdowns

Completely agree with you here. Outside of the one or two drives in the 2nd half where our run game was working, it looked like we either called a run up the middle, or called a pass that took too long to develop for the way our OL was playing. Seemed like the runs that were successful were off of jet sweep action or peppers zone read. Even though it worked out at the end of the game, I really don't like calling 6 straight obvious runs up the middle on the last two drives of the game. I'd have liked to see a WR screen on the outside to get Darboh or Chesson in space. Or we could have tried to get Butt more involved. I don't think our play calling was at its best today. But maybe Wisconsin had more to do with that than I realize.

I felt like we tried intermediate/long passes earlier and Speight was way off and/or Speight didn't have the protection he needed. that forced us to stick with the shorter passes. at least, that's how I saw it. I felt like on several drives we were running the ball well on 1st and 2nd down. we would get into 3rd and short and then a passing play would end the drive. I actually wanted more rushing.

I thought it was a bad decision to have Tice attempt that 3rd kick.  Even if he had made it.

Stick with Allen. Have confidence in him working through it . He missed one left , He missed one right . I have confidence the next would have been right down the middle .

Allen  was way more warmed up and involved in the game then some kicker who had never made an attempt .  Despite what Griese kept saying ,  Allens punting was fine .

Let Allen finish the game as the FG kicker . Tell Tice his time is getting nearer , be ready .

his preparation of the D and play calling. Late game changes were outstanding. Drevno gets a C for the OL and run game. Fisch gets a B for the passing game - a few mistakes by Speight and Darboh when they were put in position to deliver. Still perplexed by JH's playcalling in the red zone and shift away from tactics that were working. Where was the WR screen? Where was Butt on intermediate routes? Why pull Isaac for Smith in the 2nd half? Why halt the wildcat after several 4-5 yd gains? So that's probably a B- for JH.

I'm pretty frustrated with the red zone wildcat. I just didn't see the point. Why get fancy? We have Butt. Shane was in there at some point. Just very odd play calling IMO.

Today was the first time I've felt we were out coached. Defense the exception. I really don't like pulling Allen for the walk on. Have the competition during practice.
