Wisconsin BBall Postgame Thoughts

Will Beilein ever put a man on the inbound? Forget fouling, that end was exactly like Evan Turner's shot against us

Brian's take on the Refs, and the game

There is no justice. There is only Bo Ryan ruining basketball.

hero ball again, McGary needs to finish lay-ups, not enough creation on offense, and foul at the end... I really don't feel like saying more. God answered some desperate cheesehead prayers today, and I'm not happy about it.

these badger fans are insufferable and drive me insane.

I think the biggest factor of not having Morgan is the way he can run the pick and roll. He rolls very well and I dont think McGary has picked that up yet. Thats why i think our offense has stalled lately and may even be affecting GRIII - Morgan rolls, defense rotates and leaves GRIII  open for a dunk or open 3.

I thought having 2 bigs out there today was good defensively but Bielfeldt didn't offer much offensively, missing a few put backs too. Morgan and McGary should be interesting because McGary is really getting better offensively.

My staff on Monday will be annoying, maybe I'll need them to work on Satuday...and go ahead and need them to work on Sunday, too.

So they lost a tough game on the road in the toughest conference in the nation. In the overall scheme of things it is truly insignificant. Don't get me wrong, I hate seeing them lose just as much as the next Michigan fan, but really? Those of you who are flaming need to answer one question. Have any of you ever seen a vagina? If you do, you'll throw that basketball thing right out the window.

I was really down after this loss. But after taking a long nap i came up with a few things.

Michigan has 7 games left. Going 6-1 or even 5-2 would put us at 13 or 14 wins in the BIG ten. This was expected from the beginning of the season and it should give us at least a share of the Big Ten championship. We still have the Big Ten Tournament. Finally all these games at MSU, at Wisc, at Ohio, at Indiana are preparing us for the NCAA tournament. The BIG ten is by far the best conference in america and i dont think Michigan will face a tougher test in the tournament than those four hostile enviroments. We gotta move on cause we have a game in EL on Tuesday.

What's even more frustrating to me is...with this shot today, you add in Gasser (or however the f you spell his name) and Evan Turner's shot a few years back, that's 3 loses on a buzzer beater bs 3 point shot. When was the last time WE made one of those? Had a chance againist OSU a few weeks ago and no go, had a chance at Arkansas last year...again, no go. Had another shot against Duke in the tourney two seasons ago, that didn't drop. I could go on and on with close loses by us but when was the last time we won on a buzzer beater in a big game!? Blah...I'm headed to the casino tonight to drink and drop some money in my sorrows. Hail!

Indiana has lost on a neutral floor to Butler, at HOME vs Wisconsin, and at Illinois

Florida lost on a neutral floor to Kansas State, at Arizona, and at Arkansas

Duke lost at NC State and at Miami

Kansas lost to Michigan St on a neutral floor, at home to Okie State, and at TCU

Gonzaga lost at home to Illinois and at Butler

Arizona lost at Oregon and at home to UCLA

Miami lost at Florida Gulf Coast, and on neutral floors to Arizona and Indiana State

Syracuse lost on a neutral floor to Temple and at Villanova and Louisville

Ohio St lost at Duke, at home versus Kansas, and at Illinois, Michigan, and Michigan State

We've lost at Indiana, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.

There is no *great* team this year and honestly, we have the three most acceptable losses by a grand total of 14 points. One of those losses was due to a miracle heave at the buzzer.

This is the best Michigan basketball team in almost 20 years.

I was just as pissed after the game. Now, I've calmed down.

We should have won. Who knows may be we'll win at State but I had this penciled in as a loss. We may not win the B1G this year?

Hopefully, the younger players can continue to improve for tournament time. The way the team plays at times, I just worry that some mediocre team may knock us out in the early rounds of the NCAA tournament.

I won't be upset when Burke leaves . He's good Nd all but his shot selection makes it seem as if he was a "something to prove " attitude . If he could get more than just Timmy involved in the half court game we'd be undefeated.

Man you guys are depressing! It's tough to win on the road in college basketball, especially the big ten. This team will be fine. Hopefully steal one tuesday and protect our homecourt and we still have a legit shot at the big 10 championship.

Deep breaths folks.

And a long nap I am up and am still pissed. What a way to ruin a Saturday. A half court heave when we had the game won. Beating Sparty Tues could have all but wrapped up a Big Ten title for us.

We are not going to win the big ten shooting contested perimeter jumpers all day . Coach B needs to adjust his offense . I know spacing is important but our offense is crippled when all we do is pass to the wing players at 28 ft out b4 passing back to Burke or hardaway to work for a midrange or deep jumper. Tighten up a little bit and catch it on the 3 line to utilize shot fakes/triple threat with Robinson and staukas , they both can be deadly in those situations .. Catching the ball 28 feet away ... Not so much . Pass back to Burke jump shot

Today was tough but will bounce back.   No one will give us a shot at Sparty I like that and I can't see how we won't be up for a rival.  To put into perspective, after 11 games last year we were 7-4 and this year 8-3 still lot of games left.  It will come down to last game of the year and glad its at home for us.

Not at all worried about what happened in this game. Good teams still lose trap games like these. I actually think this loss helps us against MSU because  we're still going to be a little pissed about what happened today.

I'm getting tired of watching Burke iso's or pick and rolls at the end of the half/games.  Don't they have some set plays they can call to see if they can't get Hardaway or Stauskas an open shot?  Or maybe have someone else start a set play and have Burke come off a screen to get the ball with the option to shoot or penetrate depending on how the opponent defends the screen?

...but that was a trap game btwn Ohio and Lil Bro...so beat State and the world is alright and we are right back up there with a much more favorable schedule down the stretch.

And said watch I guarantee they throw up the Hail Mary and it goes in! I swear we have gotten fucked on the close my eyes end of the game 3 ball the last few years. Badgers did it to us at home when it went off the glass. Osu did it to us in the Big Tourney a few years back ( that one made me really sick) and now again today! I hate losing but understand its part of the game but fuck to lose a game like this was just unreal! I did yard work for 4 straight hours and still was a little pissed
