Wisconsin Badger Forum UM Preview
Badgers seem to be confident
I think Michigan is highly overrated for beating bad teams. If the game was being played in Madison I wouldn’t be too worried but UW always seems to find a way to lose in the Quiet House. I can’t help but think of 1998 when UW was 9-0 heading into Ann Arbor and lost by 17. That said, this team is clicking on all cylinders right now and I’m sure the players and coaches want to exact some revenge from the 2008 collapse. Given how bad Michigan’s defense is I expect UW to once again put up a lot of points.
Hopefully, UM keeps the turnovers to a minimum and the offense clicks better than last week. Go Blue!

I think he's referring to getting revenge in the Big House.

While I know the Big House has a reputation for not being the most intimidating of stadiums, after the victory over Wisky in '08 a couple of Wisconsin students told me it was the loudest they had ever heard a stadium. So take that!

was the first time I saw a camera shake from the noise in the Big House. Quiet... BAH!

The OP's original post contains the ONE comment that doesn't see Michigan as a threat. Most of the opinions at the link actually think it will be a close, hard fought game and express some, if faint, worry.

You're "sure they'll escape AA with a win"? Reverse jinx?
November 16th, 2010 at 8:47 AM ^
Something like that ;)

Wisconsin won in Ann Arbor?

the forum linked says 1994

Here's to questionably intelligent people losing all their money on gambling.
betting a whole portfolio on ONE game=fail.
GO BLUE!

Spread was Wisc -5.5 and now is down to Wisc -4.5. But any idiot putting his whole bank roll on a game deserves to get a bad line.
November 15th, 2010 at 11:02 PM ^
We'll show those stupid cheeseheads who has a quiet house...
November 15th, 2010 at 10:41 PM ^
I'm not confident, but hope springs eternal.
That being said, I am betting on Wisky. At least something to console me for a loss.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:44 PM ^
Last two weeks saw no turnovers for them, and 10 for us. Should be due for a jog back to the norm there. I think we need a plus two to have a good look at a W.

I was thinking the same thing. They have beaten exactly 2 ranked teams this year, and one (Iowa) is just barely holding on. They played a great game against OSU, but beyond that I haven't been overly impressed with their play. Dropping 83 on a bad IU team that gave up AND after you piled on the points doesn't really impress me.
November 16th, 2010 at 8:44 AM ^
Right on. And who, exactly, is overrating Michigan right now? We're 4.5 point dogs at home this weekend. These people are talking out of their asses.
November 16th, 2010 at 8:49 AM ^
And I think that Wisky might be in the national title picture if they didn't play the weakest non-conference schedule year in, year out. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, this has been their particular calling card for years.
If there was an award for Most Likely to End the Preseason Undefeated, Wisky would win it every year.
November 16th, 2010 at 9:37 AM ^
It's a corn-fed schedule, all right. OTOH, there's that nasty home & home with traditional power UNLV - and let's not forget the Pac-10 showdowns against uber-programs like ASU and Oregon State in '10/'11.
What's really interesting is their trip to Lincoln, NE next year. How will we be able to tell the teams apart?

How can we be "highly overrated" when we're unranked and an underdog at home?
November 16th, 2010 at 1:17 AM ^
If I've been hearing anything, it's that Michigan is overrated and Denard has been "figured out."
November 16th, 2010 at 1:34 AM ^
I was wondering about this too. I have no problem with Wisconsin fans being confident about the game. But who's rating us so highly that we could be called highly overrated?
November 15th, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
It's really too bad Wisconsin isn't facing a pre-Rodriguez Michigan team this weekend. The Wolverines are 15-1 against Wisconsin in Ann Arbor since Bo Schembechler arrived on the scene in 1969.
Let's face it -- M-I-C-H-I-G-A-N had owned Bucky like no other... The worst thing is that Michigan destroyed themselves by bringing RichRod on board. A pretty stupid self-inflicted wound when you consider that Michigan was getting 4 & 5 star players at will. Dumb spread offense and dumber 3-3-5 defense has left them with 5'6" 165 lb. skill players instead of Tyrone Wheatleys, Mario Manninghams and Tom Bradys... With 275 lb. offensive lineman who get shoved around... What was wrong with the Jake Longs?
They now have to rely on one player -- Denard Robinson playing like Superman to give them a chance at winning!!
November 15th, 2010 at 11:55 PM ^
Post I have ever read. The offers is the best ever in the conference and the linemen are not 275

To name a few...

First, reading the OP's quote, I wouldn't exactly say the Badger fans seem all that confident. If that's supposed to be smack talk, they're bringing some awfully weak sauce.
Second, this.
November 16th, 2010 at 10:54 AM ^
Nice. Also, helluva tag line sir.
November 16th, 2010 at 2:32 AM ^
If I was a Wiscy fan, I would be overconfident, too. I would have watched my team run up 83 points last Saturday, one week before playing what is called the "worst defense in the Big Ten."
I can only hope the players are overconfident, too. Sorta like Iowa and Illinois were last Saturday. Sorta like they were two years ago.
November 16th, 2010 at 11:56 AM ^
I'd be damn confident.
I hope they'll be every bit as confident as we were before Penn State - with the same result.
November 16th, 2010 at 6:46 AM ^
The way this college FB year is, there will be many more upsets. See you Saturday cheex doodles
November 16th, 2010 at 8:14 AM ^
Wisconsin seems to have the same weakness against mobile QB that the Carr UM teams had. Last year Northwestern upset them behind a mobile QB like Kafka, and we all remember 2008 with a marginally-mobile Threet and blowouts to teams with mobile QBs like OSU and PSU. They are super-high after last week's win, but as we saw this week sometimes the expected doesn't happen.

and I definitely think they have reason to be confident. They handed it to us in the second half, it was absolutely brutal. That being said, our offense is better, and hopefully our defense is turning the corner. But it is going to be a tough tough game to win considering their strengths.
November 16th, 2010 at 11:11 AM ^
I think UofM can jam up the line up scrimmage and gets enough players to the ball to slow down Wisconsin
If we can go up a score or two and make them play catch up, I think we stand a very good chance of tripping them up on offense

I just want to see Martin healthy and raping their so called Massive Oline.
