Badgers seem to be confident

I think Michigan is highly overrated for beating bad teams. If the game was being played in Madison I wouldn’t be too worried but UW always seems to find a way to lose in the Quiet House. I can’t help but think of 1998 when UW was 9-0 heading into Ann Arbor and lost by 17. That said, this team is clicking on all cylinders right now and I’m sure the players and coaches want to exact some revenge from the 2008 collapse. Given how bad Michigan’s defense is I expect UW to once again put up a lot of points.

Hopefully, UM keeps the turnovers to a minimum and the offense clicks better than last week.  Go Blue!

While I know the Big House has a reputation for not being the most intimidating of stadiums, after the victory over Wisky in '08 a couple of Wisconsin students told me it was the loudest they had ever heard a stadium. So take that!

The OP's original post contains the ONE comment that doesn't see Michigan as a threat.  Most of the opinions at the link actually think it will be a close, hard fought game and express some, if faint, worry.

In grad school now at UW (UM undergrad) and hearing lots about how low the spread is. One dude bet his investment portfolio on wisky (no idea how much but I'd still say its relatively a lot). They're expecting a big win. I was at the Wisky-OSU game this year and it was damn loud the whole game-probably the loudest I've heard. Im looking forward to being in aa this weekend and also comparing the level post renovation.

I was thinking the same thing.  They have beaten exactly 2 ranked teams this year, and one (Iowa) is just barely holding on.  They played a great game against OSU, but beyond that I haven't been overly impressed with their play.  Dropping 83 on a bad IU team that gave up AND after you piled on the points doesn't really impress me.

And I think that Wisky might be in the national title picture if they didn't play the weakest non-conference schedule year in, year out.  Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, this has been their particular calling card for years.

If there was an award for Most Likely to End the Preseason Undefeated, Wisky would win it every year.

It's a corn-fed schedule, all right.  OTOH, there's that nasty home & home with traditional power UNLV - and let's not forget the Pac-10 showdowns against uber-programs like ASU and Oregon State in '10/'11.

What's really interesting is their trip to Lincoln, NE next year.  How will we be able to tell the teams apart?

It's really too bad Wisconsin isn't facing a pre-Rodriguez Michigan team this weekend. The Wolverines are 15-1 against Wisconsin in Ann Arbor since Bo Schembechler arrived on the scene in 1969.

Let's face it -- M-I-C-H-I-G-A-N had owned Bucky like no other... The worst thing is that Michigan destroyed themselves by bringing RichRod on board. A pretty stupid self-inflicted wound when you consider that Michigan was getting 4 & 5 star players at will. Dumb spread offense and dumber 3-3-5 defense has left them with 5'6" 165 lb. skill players instead of Tyrone Wheatleys, Mario Manninghams and Tom Bradys... With 275 lb. offensive lineman who get shoved around... What was wrong with the Jake Longs?

They now have to rely on one player -- Denard Robinson playing like Superman to give them a chance at winning!!

First, reading the OP's quote, I wouldn't exactly say the Badger fans seem all that confident.   If that's supposed to be smack talk, they're bringing some awfully weak sauce.

Second, this.

If I was a Wiscy fan, I would be overconfident, too.  I would have watched my team run up 83 points last Saturday, one week before playing what is called the "worst defense in the Big Ten."

I can only hope the players are overconfident, too.  Sorta like Iowa and Illinois were last Saturday.  Sorta like they were two years ago.

Wisconsin seems to have the same weakness against mobile QB that the Carr UM teams had.  Last year Northwestern upset them behind a mobile QB like Kafka, and we all remember 2008 with a marginally-mobile Threet and blowouts to teams with mobile QBs like OSU and PSU.  They are super-high after last week's win, but as we saw this week sometimes the expected doesn't happen.

If Wisconsin finds 2 or 3 running plays that they can run over and over again, that M has no clue how to stop, it could be a long afternoon, unless M matches them score for score. If we get a few stops and our offense is clicking, I don't think Wisconsin has the ability to score fast on the ground minus the big plays. Should be a good game!!

and I definitely think they have reason to be confident.  They handed it to us in the second half, it was absolutely brutal.  That being said, our offense is better, and hopefully our defense is turning the corner.  But it is going to be a tough tough game to win considering their strengths.
