Wisc is reeeaaally searching for bulletin board material

Submitted by iawolve on

James, I fully agree with you that Wisconsin will not score 83 on us this weekend. I also appreciate the fact you guaranteed that fact since I don't find it within the realm of reason. What is strange, however, is how this is somehow turned into you daring Wisconsin to run up the score. I think this is an overeager copy editor more than anything else.

Michigan CB daring Bucky to run up score?

08:15 AM ET 11.17 | As part of a team that has had its troubles stopping opponents, Michigan cornerback James Rogers may have set a carrot out there for Wisconsin. [Rogers] didn't go out on much of a limb when asked on Monday about the University of Wisconsin football team scoring 83 points against Indiana. "I guarantee they're not going to score 83 points on us," said Rogers, whose Wolverines host the Badgers on Saturday. Then again, Michigan allowed 65 points in a triple-overtime win over Illinois two weeks ago, so maybe the limb is not unbreakable.

"Hey, this team allowed 65 points in TRIPLE OVERTIME, so maybe this other team can hang 20 more points in regulation no problem"

I really hope Martin and Mouton come back healthy. I miss seeing QBs get their souls consumed every so often.

I like how they brought up the 65 points to Illinois.  Not only is that 18 points less than 83, but it took 3 OT's to get there.  If that's bulletin board material, then I'm glad.  That means our players and coaches aren't running their mouths.

That's because Wiscy's boards are soft edge and lack the motivation of an edge that is hard. They should be talking about where they are going to be taken at noon on Saturday...

basically James Rogers guaranteed that Wisconsin would not put up their highest point total in 95 years twice in a row, which would be approximately 40 points higher than we've given up in regulation all season...playing with fire James, playing with fire...

In their defense the Badgers are riding a 1 game trend of 83 points

I wonder if badger fans have been projected out "what if we scored 80+ points in our last 2 games"

OT:Bucky did 535 push ups last game (it took 3 guys rotating to do them all, they are in serious need of some barwis attention)

Maybe they should use the fact that they have not beat us in Ann Arbor since 1994??  Part of me for some reason is actually kind of happy that they scored 83 points last week. I see them coming into the big house on Saturday a little over confident and believing that they are going to put up another large amount of points. Now with that they may play a little tight early on and with our defense appearing to play with a little bit of passion for the first time all season, maybe we can continue to get stops and get our offense on the field as quickly and pain free as possible.

Then Wisconsin players and coaches are stupider than we thought.

How about this for real BB material?

We beat your ass the last time you played here, and that was our worst year in recent memory. So get ready for another loss, Bucky.

Your coach is a douche bag fat tub of lard who picks up undergrads on free cheese and brat nights at the Ole Swiss Wheel Pub N Grub.

Running up the score is ok because plus size 12 girls need all the style pointers they can get.

Your RB's are going to average only 4.3 ypc.

Our placekicker will make all 6 of his XP's.

I don't know why people give such credence to "bulletin board material." If a team responds to trash talk by moving away from their planning then the trash talker has won. I would try to give the other team bulletin board material every week. Not that what Rogers said here was "trash talk" by any means, but I'd rather it were Healthy Mike Martin saying things like "pssh... there's no way you guys are gonna get 200 yards on the ground running draw plays.." I mean, I'm not sure their plan isn't already "throw directly at James Rogers as often as possible" so this probably won't change a thing.

I would never advocate for intentionally injuring a player, but if Wisconsin has a chance to run up the score and does, I completely endorse that if they're going to try and humiliate us, that we try and put their players through the ground using whatever means necessary.

Never, under any circumstances, should we go for an injury. Cutting some kid's college (or pro?) career short for the decision his coach makes to be classless is unaccpeptable. You sound like an OSU fan-- no Michigan Man should ever do such a disgusting thing. Sending a message, playing hard, that's fine-- but going for a cheap-shot? No way.

Furthermore, we're not a I-AA school; while we may be down right now, we're still a big league school. If you don't want to get the score run up on you, go out there and stop their offense.

I can't believe someone is actually suggesting this.

You would "never advocate for intentionally injuring a player," unless, you know, that player's coach was an asshole. No. Hell no, even. Disgusting. Never ever intentionally injure a player. I wish I could provide more insight on this than saying, in several different ways, that this is wrong. But this is effing wrong. Our guys should never fall into that kind of undignified behavior.

Man, it would be nice and sweet if for once everything came together Saturday for a nice beatdown by UM over Wisky. Something about Bret B and his hairlip has me going this week.

I remember when Rogers said that someone on the board  made a comment that watch out, Wiscy was going to use that for motivation.  I thought it was a joke, but apparently Wiscy is that childish that they need to invent controversy from literally nothing.  If there is any justice in the world, Bielema will be embarrassed this weekend and sent home on the short end of a blowout.

Eh, I think that's just some dumb butt really stretching for a story.  Maybe it's bulletin board material for idiotic message board posters who need something to get FIRED UP about?  I'd be shocked if any Wisconsin players or coaches cared the least bit about Rogers' guarantee.

Their fat tub of goo HC was on Mike n Mike yesterday trying to rationalize his playing calling in the fourth quarter of the Indiana game.  For the record that is his third game this season he has been called out on for running up the score so he's no stranger to defending his choices.

I have no doubt that if he gets a chance he will do the same to us on Saturday.  I have equally no doubt that he won't get that chance to do so.

Bucky sucks, Badgers suck, Wisconsin sucks, everything about the entire state sucks and will forever suck.

If it will help, I'll frame it for ya, just give the address there in Wisconsin.  You might even catch me in a good mood and I'll come up and hang it on the wall for you right under the team's poster of Pee Wee Herman that's also used for inspiration.

I was afraid that Wisconsin was going to keep our offense off the field with long slow ground game drives....but if this gets wisconsin pumped up trying to score alot of points on us I feel we will have a better shot at winning....gives our offense alot more chances to score...ya dig
