Winston knee

Submitted by CincinnatiWolverine on
It sure looks like he might have blown out his knee on that play in the Illinois game.

Can't say I'm happy about this, but can't say I feel bad, either. I'm with Magnus, karma's a bitch. With Caper also a bit banged up in this game, does it become the Edwin Baker show?

Instead of rooting for them to get hurt, why not hope that they can pull out all the stops (both on and off the field, except for Winston on the field) to earn back the respect of society? I hope that Vick and Winston make it happen off the field and do good things for the world.

Life can be hard but your a moron if your an adult and choose to beat people almost to death and kill x# of dogs. Some people are just shit there whole life and i choose not to root for people like that. If they get straight thats all good but I choose to laugh when bad shit happens to them.

the world is a better place if these guys or people like them get right. But all things being said people like Winston and Vick choose these life choices and more than likely will always be shit. There is a reason why 90% of people in prison have been there before. Some people for whatever reason are shitty people and there for I dont have a "soft" spot for these worthless asses.

The same fanbase that cheered Stanton's injury in 2005 is now cheering another Spartan's injury, despite repeated claims that they don't care about MSU? That's a little ironic, I guess.

"AND YOU CAN COUNT ON ME, WAITING FOR YOU IN THE PARKING LOT!" You don't see me trolling RCMB or SpartyMSU intentionally stirring the pot. So while I may spend a decent amount of time on MGoBlog, um, it's my team's main football blog/board, what's your reason for being here? Once again, quite the life you must lead.

I really don't mind fans from other teams coming here, even if they aren't the nicest or are maybe rude at times. But for something like this, it is pretty clear that the people here who are happy about this guy getting hurt are in the minority. Obviously, some are, and they are being negged accordingly. Your job as an opposing fan isn't to correct problems that are clearly being dealt with by us already with the points system and even chastising responses. It's not like you are going to successfully change the opinion of everyone you agree with on here, and the intelligent ones you hypothetically want to interact with already have intelligent opinions. All this being said, I don't really get why Michigan fans would like Winston any less than MSU fans do.

I attended the 2004 game (Stanton was healthy in '05). No one cheered his injury. It occurred on a third-down stop, so people cheered the play, but when it was clear Stanton was injured, the stadium went silent. The idea that we celebrated his injury is a Spartan urban legend.

Negbang me if you want, but he's a human being who has possibly just had his season ended prematurely. Have some empathy! Imagine how frustrating that would be were it one of our players, regardless of off field issues. I'm no Glenn Winston apologist, but come on...this post makes you look like a vindictive jerk.

He may be a thug who shouldn't be out there in the first place . . . but I don't wish an injury that like on anyone. I don't exactly feel sorry for Dantonio for losing this guy, though.

ACL injuries =CRAP, trust me, i tore mine and it garbage, even after recovery. They take a over a year to recover 100%, not the 6 months like most say. It is 6 months if you shoot yourself with Painkillers and stuff

I'm just saying but did you try playing after the injury. I manned up and played with mine torn and a partially torn meniscus for a week+, then the Coach ordered me to have it checked out. Can't tolerate pain my a$$ Maybe it's the rehab and PT they had me doing that has slowed my process. But I was completely cleared to play 7 months after surgery and am not yet up to the speed I was prior to surgery

I wouldn't wish this on someone, but I'm not really all that torn up about it. (Pun originally not intended, but on second thought, yes, intended.)

Nobody deserves this, even if the guy is a jerk. It is one thing to want him to be limited to 40-ish yards and no TDs; it is to be happy to see his season (and potentially his career) over on a single play.

why is everyone up in arms about defending this notion? You're telling me that if a serial killer sprained his knee, you'd be sitting there saying, darn, that poor guy....? I realize that this is less than that, but I don't like Michigan state players or fans, and I don't like criminals. Why is this SO different? It's not like this guy's life is over if he can't play football anymore.

Um, the guy got into a fight and beat up another State student/athlete. Yes, it was a thug move and I am not happy that he is playing for MSU this year (alum and all), but people can make mistakes and still turn out to be decent people. And even if he winds up always being a jerk, I don't see how tearing an ACL is proper comeuppance. He served months in jail - that seems like a proper punishment. I don't think he is a good guy, but it sounds like football may be one of the few things he is reasonably good at. To no longer have that in his life, my guess is that he won't turn to academics or something productive, but may instead revert to the same self-destructive tendencies that landed him in jail in the first place.

doesn't help me much, I wish people were less kind to bad people, and more judgemental. The level of stupidity and freedom of being an asshole is too prevalent so I don't give a crap about defending this guy. However, I do agree that your notion of this being an improper punishment could be a winning argument. Not sure that it's right as the karma is a bitch post received a lot of points, but it could be.

I would normally feel bad for anyone that this may happen to, but not "Glenn fastest when running between jail and the practice field Winston."
