Redwings 8 - Ducks 1
Let's stop allowing 3+ goals in the final period. I'll be happy if we do that. Oh, and if we win. I'll be happy if we win.
Go ved vings!
If Ditka is in goal we win 12-0. He scores 11 on puck clears from our own net. If Ditka sits out, we win 5-3.
Good Guys: 37. Mighty Ducks: -3
Wings 4 Ducks 3
3-2 Wings. Need to get this win!
Good call on the final score!
My prediction is that Mickey Redmond will be consuming ginger ales during the game.
but rather a statement of fact. mickey loves his ginger ales.
or what the score is Detroit. We need this game. GO WINGS!
4-2. And we win game 5.
Lets. Fucking. Do this.
Red Wings will have at least one more goal than the Ducks. The Wings desperately need this one. Let's get it!!
motherfucker
Another goal that wouldn't have happened had we made a simple play.
Fiddlesticks.
Fucking dumb turnovers. When will we have smart defenseman who don't shit themselves in our end with the puck.
Yeah, can't remember the last time the Wings had a guy like that. That Swede who played 23 years and retired last year was the worst.
Fuck. Sloppy and fucking slow
i hate the rebuilding period
i guess my ass got spoiled. i miss the red wings of the 90's and 00's
Yes!!
This team is just plain overmatched.
It is the 2-7 series. Also, that Kronwall hit looked better in real time with the kind of obstructed view than it did with a clear angle. Nice job getting low with the hips either way.
Momentum is a fickle thing in hockey. There have been times where we looked overmatched early, only to come back and make it a series or win and the same has happened for other teams playing us. Ducks aren't invincible in the slightest. Win this one and it's best of 3.
Crowd is on top of the chants tonight!
How many games was the Kronwall hit worth?
Lifetime ban!!
If Shanahan and Bettman have their way, he will be force to coach some pee wee hockey team from district 9 in Minneapolis.
They are not overmatched. Bad goal which is typical of JH in the playoffs. The wings have been the better than the ducks in the first just can't get it by hiller.
I'm not just referring to the first period tongiht.
Decent first period much better tho the last game. Kronwall jumps and hits a guy again and jimmy lets in a cheap one.
Ericsson is playing well, Kronwall almost killed a man. Most of the shots were directly at Hiller though.
Samuelsson doesn't need be on any NHL team at this point in his career. But lets start him on the first line.
bullshit call.. he nudged him
I've mentioned this to others, but as someone who doesn't know much about the rules of the game but enjoys the game for its pace of play and puck movement, I really don't understand penalties at all in this game. Plays that seem to be more dangerous, late, effect the opposing player move, etc seem to not be called but some of the bullshit that doesn't effect the game is called. I guess calls seem subjective and inconsistent at best to me. I just don't know how long the game has been this way, because I don't think it always has
Do you have any examples or types of calls in general? I'm honestly curious about this.
Nothing specific, right now. I will keep an eye out. In general I feel calls like hooking, slashing and even interference at times are pretty iffy. It could be my own ignorance on the actual rule regarding penalties and legal contact. I've never really wanted to read about it, just pick it up from watching and commentators. Now, Micky might not be the best one to listen to all of the time because he is and will always be old time hockey- and times are now different. I also started watching around the avalanche rivalry. It could just be the entire game as changed and I'm just not ready to view today's rule for all that they are and I still revert to initial thoughts of the game.
Hooking has changed a lot since the last lockout, there's been a much bigger emphasis on obstruction penalties and high hits. Hooking is actually a pretty black and white call, the NHL defines it as "the act of using the stick in a manner that enables a player to restrain an opponent". Generally, wrapping the stick around an opponent's torso or pulling the blade of your stick back while it's attached to an opponent are dead giveaways.
Interference is a more subjective call; the easy ones are where the puck is nowhere near the play, the hard ones are when "possession and control" are in question. The referees are looking to see if a hit is avoidable after a player gets rid of the puck, players generally do a quick count to three or a normal count to two as a rough guide, and that's usually pretty accurate.
Then again, Gryba got an interference call and Eller had the puck on his stick when he was hit (the big Senators/Canadiens hit)., and there are a bunch of other examples of calls being incorrect, so obviously things aren't always called perfectly in real time.
I feel like their chances are of much more quality than ours. Tough row to hoe this way
If you can lay up that much, you can avoid contact all together. Wings can't afford to be on the PK all game.
Looked to me like he didn't expect Sbisa folding like that once he felt contact. Bert's an old school kind of guy and the game isn't old school anymore. Flops work now. That said, yeah, you're right. Pretty dumb penalty.
Just that getting an opponent off the puck at the blue line isn't worth risking two minutes, especially when it's a near certainty it's going to get called against you.
that i am glad we don't have t.v. reading the mgo-comments is enough.
but despite the obvious frustration of all, go wings, go!
are the wings gonna score a goal again?
Again? This game is the only one in existence for me, so I'm confused.
They are working on being shutout for 5 straight periods
forgive my typing.. getting frustrated
It's possible to play an outside game at Dodgers Stadium? Huhmm
They can't get anything past Hiller..no matter what. Jesus.
Good Lord, those refs sure take a long time to blow the whistle on Howard's end.
hiller is a damn stone wall.. he is stopping everything
