Wiltfong Crystal Ball: Filiaga to Michigan

Submitted by evenyoubrutus on

A lot of bad news today, perhaps this bit could help us all sleep tonight. FTR, Sam Webb has stated that Filiaga is one of the few offensive line targets who could start right away.

Also, Wiltfong very recently stated he had a "gut feeling" that Filiaga would be going to Oklahoma, so clearly he learned something very significant that swayed his opinion.

I just put in a @247CrystalBall forecast in favor of #Michigan for Top247 OT Chuck Filiaga: https://t.co/pso2DPhXrG #Wolverines

Yeah, pretty much. Wilson is a better athlete, but he's also very raw. Filiaga's not going to be an elite player from day one, but he's more ready physically and technically.

yep filiaga would be great but they could use a top DT.  theyve signed some decent prospects but other than villain, not many quick twitch type athletes at DL.  heres hoping guys like jeter and paea figure it out and develop into real contributors

This is the more informative one, so we'll go with this one - no offense to DCGrad, although his was in fact the first one.

In any case, hopefully Wiltfong is correct.

There's been alot of negative news....but filiaga n Harris pointing ina positive direction...I think if these guys commit next weekend the last month before nsd could get really interesting w prospects wanting to play w Harris, in particular

Just passing the info along. I agree, and what is equally important is that Webb himself said he hadn't heard anything from the Harris side of things that convinced him one way or the other. The thing is, Harris has been even quieter than DPJ was about his recruiting, AFAIK. So anything you read or hear will be mostly conjecture.

that Sam doesn't share the coaching staff's optimism about Harris. As you mention, he needs to hear it from Harris first.

The thing is that it's possible Harris was telling the staff nice things three weeks ago, but a lot can change in a teenager's mind in that span of time, especially with his original commitment already going to another NC game.

Huge news. O line needs an upgrade and with Chuck we've done that across the board. Herbert leaving won't matter much now. Actually prefer Becton over him personally.

Just read that Tedarrell Slaton now prefers to play on the defensive side of the ball. Looks like Kentucky is now one of the leaders. I wonder how Michigan factors into this?
