Willie Gay Ultimate Highlights ( Watch sitting down)

This kid comes in and plays significant snaps right out of the gate and likely wins the "Viper" role. Lets hope Coach Harbaugh can get this done.

I will not get excited for this kid only to see the supernatural power of the Mississippi Black Hole keep him in state. When he signs an LOI to Michigan, then I will dare to watch

I watched the first minute and saw him tackling high and wondered if he was relying purely on his athelticism only. Then he form tackles perfectly and with intensity. He would be the perfect viper. May he Go Blue.

I will post this in the other thread as well, but Sam Webb stated the following this morning on WTKA... I may be paraphrasing a tiny bit.

"I'm not convinced LSU is the leader for Willie Gay based off my conversation with his mom."

I guess he has a post up on Scout on his interview with his mom, which I believe was after his in-home visit with the coaches. Also mentioned that he will be talking with her again possibly today.

His comments weren't entirely cryptic where I would have believed that Michigan is the all-around favorite again, but I do think that Michigan has a much better shot at Willie than the LSU rumors had us to believe. He also said something to the effect that the story painted by the LSU comments was not in fact the exact picture going on.

My personal belief is that it's LSU or Michigan, and this could be the Rashan Gary recruitment of the 2017 class. I've moved towards the 50/50 range after listening to Sam this morning.

Solomon and Gay are my dream finish for this class, but I get a bad feeling Willie Gay stays home at Mississippi State. No sources, but it doesn't seem either Michigan or LSU are really confident. When Sam Webb isn't getting a lot of intel, it usually is a bad sign. He is from Starkville and may take an unofficial visit there this weekend as well.

Hard to pull kids out of Mississippi. I will never understand why.

LSU just flipped Jacob Phillips from Oklahoma. Number 1 ILB in the country. I know Willie is more of an OLB but this always has an effect on other recruits. Hopefully a negative one for Willie to LSU.

Willie is a total outsider 'backer so this doesn't hurt their chances with him. More likely to help if he wants to be in the same unit with another big prospect.

In LSUs scheme I gotta think Gay is an ILB. I don't see him taking on tackles and TEs and rushing the passer from the outside in a 3-4. An OLB in that scheme is more like Arden Key or Lamarr Woodley. That being said apparently LSU has a dearth of LBs and needs everyone they can get their hands on, plus for an elite player like Gay you find a spot no matter what.

I rarely watch the highlight reel until it seems a near certainty or the actual commitment. Helps maintain 'crutin detachment. I'm curious how many of you watch them right away or wait also?
