Not to throw facts into the face of your well thought out opinion but here are a few of Carroll's stats since getting to USC Overall vs top 10: 14-4 Overall vs traditional rivals: 16-2 Overall bowl record: 6-2 Overall BCS bowl record: 6-1 I defy you to find a guy that has been that consistent in big games for that long. Tressel is probably the closest you are gonna find and his bowl record just doesn't even come close to stacking up.

Are you kidding me? MSU hasn't won a conference title in what? 20 years? They won't control shit. Iowa wins a conference title once every 5 years. Don't give me any shit about how "now they'll be a regular contender". Yeah right. The only teams that are going to contend for titles in the next few years are PSU, OSU, michigan, and maybe wisconsin.

MSU isn't even a contender. MSU can be proud of winning 2 in a row. MSU gets very few good players bc if ANY good athletes are going to come out of anywhere but OH and MI and go to a school between the 2... it will be UM. MSU is going to get TORCHED by TT. and that's not even a GOOD TT team. Rings @ OSU? I know this clown doesn't mean NC rings. GOtta get past those 8-4 USC teams before you can talk NC rings. UM will win a NC before OSU does. and UM won't win one for a little while...

I could care less that the Spartans are tentatively losing a recruit. What I am happy about is not having to face Gholston every year. If the kid turned out anything like his cousin, it would have been horrible.

If I'm not mistaken, Jake Long got flagged for the only penalties of his senior season in the OSU game against Gholston. I miss Jake Long. edit: This was supposed to be a reply to formerlyanonymous' post. I fail at the internets.

But then I saw the source and honestly don't believe it. I mean, wasn't he just at an MSU bball game with Dantonio? I suppose strange things sometimes happen, but like Big Ten expansion, I'll believe it when I see it. Gholston has always seemed pretty strongly committed regardless of the rumors. Seems strange for it to change suddenly. (Plus, aren't we in a dead period right now?)

You guys are giving way too much credit to the main board, despite their title they're the main source of nothing. I am not saying he wont decommit but the original poster could only bring himself to say Gholston "might" decommit. You might not want to shoot off the confetti cannons just yet.

-99000 points? That can't have been a meltdown; it has to have been Divine Intervention. Wolverine318 seems like a literate, besides (ie, not troll-like organism); I'm wondering if something like the legend of Prometheus is involved, ie, p.o.ing Supernatural Beings or something similar.

This seems like an internet rumor that UofM fans just seem way to happy to jump on, below are some points that were brought up on a MSU board: In the past week. -Dantonio went to his "Dream Team" ceremony and was with him most of the night, many pictures of them. -Went to a Basketball game and sat next to Dantonio and I think Greg Jones. Was decked out in State gear. -Don't remember what medium it was, but told the press (paraphrasing) that he is definitely going to Michigan State.

then he will go to bama or LSU if he wants to win. if he wants go 6-6 or 5-7 every year, that's fine with me, as long as we beat MSU every year.

not at all surprised here? Christ, the kid said himself several months ago that he´d be looking around,so his commitment was soft. And Merry f&%$ing Christmas to the knucklehead homers at the Freep!

I couldn't find anything other than the Mainboard that was touting that Gholston was going to leave. I hope it is true for several reasons. First, I think the kid will get better coaching in Alabama than at MSU. Sceond, I think he will get more national recognition at Alabama than at MSU. Third, the folks at MSU can't pay what the folks at Alabama can, and lastly, I don't want to have to face him for the next several years. I'm sorry that I have to say that, but it's true.
