Will we be ranked?

Will we? I'd say we will be around 24-27. And what will our record be now that we are 2-0?

I personally think we won't crack the Top 25 but we'll definitely get down into the upper 20's (27th or 28th). If we win next week (which is still no gimme, no game in football ever is...), I think we have a good chance of cracking the Top 25.

I believe Michigan actually got some votes last week. No doubt their win today is turning some heads and making some believers out there. Granted they'll probably be ranked somewhere from 20-25

Rittenberg: "The Wolverines will definitely enter the national rankings this week and should start 4-0 before heading to East Lansing on Oct. 3." Probably a stupid question-but what's the chance DG sees Forcier play well all year and decides to go somewhere else? I haven't read anything about if he think he has the chance to steal the job or anything.

Where's Gardner going to go? He's a stud but his offer list isn't a world beater. Oregon? That team is in total disarray. Nebraska is more of a pro-style offense. ND would prolly put him at WR. Maybe LSU, but they landed the Shepherd kid last year, so Gardner would just sit behind him. Gardner is going nowhere; quit getting your panties in a tizzy.

+1 b/c I think your question has logical integrity. That said, I think he'll stick around. With a red shirt, he's likely going to start for 2 years. He'll probably also get some "change of pace" duty (depending on what position 'Lace plays in the future), some mop up duty, and the opportunity to play in the event of injury. Not a bad gig, IME.

I think he'll stay. First of all, he's two years behind Tate when you throw a red shirt in. Second of all, he seems to be crazy for M and Rodriguez offense. Third of all... wouldn't you want to be part of this? i don't think any freshman enters a program expecting to supplant the older guy.

Seeing this DG pessimism is so aggravating less than 2 hours after a *huge* win!! Plus, I thought this has been debunked. First of all, w/ injouries you never know. A back up is 1 snap away from being the starter. Secondly, it's *not* ideal to start a freshman if you can avoid it. The ideal scenario is this: - Forcier continues to rock and remains our starter. - Shoelace improves and becomes a more viable option at QB, becomes a solid backup that we can work in on a few plays for variety. - With Forcier and Shoelace providing 2 solid quarterback options, DG redshirts in his Freshman year. - His 2nd year, if he can become the backup, we can move Shoelace to another position and utilize his speed. - If Forcier goes pro after his junior year, DG has 3 years of eligibility left and can be the starter. If Forcier stays all 4 years, DG still gets 2 years as our starter. This is an ideal scenario, obvsly, but definitely w/in the realm of possibility. All of this is assuming that things w/ Tate and Shoelace continue to go very well. Hopefully they do, but there are no guarantees. Gardner will get his chance, there's no reason for him to go elsewhere.

And why do people keep obsessing about our ranking? Is being ranked #24 or #25 really going to make anyone feel any better? It's worthless number unless you're #1 or #2 at end of the season, and then you'll be playing MNC game.

Let's just enjoy this win. It's been a while since we could celebrate like this. We are certainly moving in the right direction. This has to help recruiting as well. I haven't had this much fun watching a game since the FL bowl game.

ND will get dropped out. But I still don't think we get in the top 25. We'll get close probably. But, I think we'll get there in the next week or 2. We have snacky-cakes on the schedule for the next 2 weeks. Chances of us starting 4-0 are... well, I don't want to say it's almost guaranteed, *but*... it's almost guaranteed. (knock on wood) At that point, at 4-0, other teams will have lost, and we'll be undefeated w/ a very respectable win over ND, so at that point it's hard to see us not cracking the top 25. Right now though, don't see it, and at this point in the season, I don't care either way..... I'm just thrilled w/ an epic victory today!!

I don't think we'll be ranked yet. It was a great win for us, but we have a lot of questions on defense still, and I think the pollsters will take that into account.
