I don't think the pros are a good analogy here. Pros are adult professionals and should be evaluated as such. Will came here as a teenage kid with tremendous upside but in need of strong adult coaching support. He finally got that under Hoke & Co and his attitude, work ethic and performance improved dramatically. Will admitted as much in his senior year press conferences when he voiced his regret he didn't have another year under Mattison. Cursed burned redshirt! Hope Will makes it in the NFL even though UM sort of let him down as an underclassman.

Should be interesting.  Kid has some talent, and the Jets definitely need help on the line considering they released a DT and have some other question marks.

Not really, Jets are totally stacked on DL, especially after taking Sheldon Richardson at 13, which was a total surprise because of so many holes in other areas. Seems like Rex really wanted to fortify the trenches on both sides and will be lining up 4 or more on the defensive line.

I don't really get this pick given the needs at OLB, FS, and WR, but I'm thrilled to have another Wolverine on the team and hope Big Will continues the effort and progress he made his senior year.

I definitely don't buy the NFL Network commentator's belief that he'll be switched to OL. We tried that experiment and it never came close to working.

This guy is the Jets beat writer for the Star-Ledger.

I was having trouble following the draft and watching the last couple innings of both the Tigers and Michigan Softball in hard-fought wins for both teams.  MGoBlog is, without a doubt, my go-to source for all up-to-the-minute must-have U of M sports updates!!!

will be an interesting experiment. I guess he's got the frame for it, but he's probably a high schooler in terms of offensive line skills. I hope the Jets make it work

Congrats Big Will. All that hard work this season and Hoke/Mattison busting your ass everyday really paid off. Normally I mock the Jets, but now I have a small reason to cheer for them.

I'm sure Campbell will play wherever he's needed in order to play in the NFL, but I really hope they're right about him having more potential on the O-Line. I'd have to see him get cut because he wasn't good enough for the O-Line, especially after all the progress he has made under Hoke and Mattison.

I don't want to start a Rich Rodriguez slam fest but damn it has been depressing at how few of our players have been drafted. First two this year taken in rounds 5 and 6. Used to be two taken in the first round or two at the least in every draft. Think we will be back on that level in a year or two but its fairly obvious to the lack of real talent and why we struggled during those few years.
But to get off the Debbie Downer note, congrats to Denard and Will and any others picked up late or in free agency. Your hard work and dedication have paid off. GO BLUE!

The draft really does highlight how low our talent level has been for the last 5 years, despite people's attempt to put a good face on it. Just as one measure of comparison, LSU had SIX defensive players drafted just in the first three rounds of this one draft.

Mattison and Co. have done a good job putting together a respectable defense with mediocre talent, but they've got three years of their own recruits now. It's time they started developing some star-caliber players and a championship-level defense out of all those highly touted recruits.

Just End The Season!

So say the suffering Jets fans.

Good luck to BWC. He is going to need it being on that circus of a team.
