that he might go day 2 (round 3).

lol yesterday people were posting in another bowl thread about how poorly he was doing, so which is it?

Both? Given his Michigan career, that wouldn't surprise me.

He impressed the scouts with his agility. Unfortunately, he did it by sliding over the hoods of their cars.

Blame Rich Rod. Or at least that's what I hear.
Blockhams reference, so don't kill me for bringing it up. It's a joke. I love Rich Rod. Er, that's not entirely true, but I don't hate the man.

well i wanted to say something along the lines of that, but figured everyone would be up in arms for saying he played poorly most of his career

He did poorly on his character assessment. Scouts found that he created a rumor that he punched several sea animals, and specifically a whale, while prepping for our recent bowl game against SC. It turns out, he has never even met a whale, and only seen any evidence of said whale on the internet. There was no evidence that any whales were punched on that date at all, let alone by Campbell.

GOLD!

That is great, though I wish he would have impressed the scouts more during our actual games.

But the real question is: How's his pad level????

wait is that good or bad?

Pad level not only good, but also not bad.

happy to hear his game kicked into gear right when we needed it!

Given the improvement he showed when he finally got some consistent coaching the past 2 years and especially this year, his frame and work ethic, I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a long, consistent if quiet NFL career. He won't be Wilfork or Ngata, but I can see him as a contributor.

I've said it before but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a long productive NFL career. Physically, he's there. He's been coached up and understands what it takes. Why not?
I don't really understand the O-Line mention though. He's made huge strides as a DLineman and has prototype size for that position, so why would a team want to start him from stratch again on the other side of the ball?
January 17th, 2013 at 12:33 PM ^
Even though he's made huge strides, he still hasn't been very productive. I believe Brandon Moore, an OG for the Jets, was a defensive tackle in college.

I think his upward trajectory and his frame, etc. will get him drafted in the later rounds. I think he can defintely occupy a role as a rotation d-lineman, provided he continues to work hard and develop his skillset.

I'm rooting for him.
He never consistently made the plays that we all wanted from him and I wish he had one more year to get there, but I am still rooting for him to continue to get better and make it to the next level.

when this would have read "Will Campbell impressing scouts at the buffet"

This guy was a big fat lazy bust at Michigan. To bad. He only decided to play his senior year because he was looking for a pro contract. I feel sorry for the team that drafts him.

Frustrating to see RR burn his red-shirt to block for a few PATs. BWC is the posterchild for why linemen should sit it out if at all possible. Another year would have been very helpful to his progress.
Best of luck Big Will. College days don't necessarily indicate NFL success.
