in short, he had issues with fundamentals that weren't getting better while those of the rest of the D-line were. Washington is already better as a DT.

Fundamentals are a coaching issue. He has a ton of natural ability but technique is much more important in college when you can't just bowl over everyone. Let's hope BH can work some magic.

I would be curious what Coach Hoke saw in his 4 days on the job that would warrant a move like this. Hoke has never seen him in practice or coached him in a game yet he feels confident to move him back to the D-line. What did he see that the old coaching staff didn't. If we knew that motivation it would tell us alot about both coaches. Hope it works out

What he probably sees is a complete lack of depth on the defensive line to run a 4-3 defense now that three defensive linemen have graduated (Patterson, Sagesse, Banks).

Perhaps this means we get the D-Line we dreamed of last year: Roh, Martin, Campbell, Roh. Not even sure if we will run a 4 man front, but ths has potential.
