Did you see those calves!!!?????
November 17th, 2014 at 10:59 PM ^
Doze calves! O_O
November 18th, 2014 at 7:43 AM ^
Cankles?
November 18th, 2014 at 10:55 AM ^
Dem calves tho.
November 17th, 2014 at 10:47 PM ^
The fact that reporter asked Coach B to start calling him Maximus was just absurd.
November 18th, 2014 at 4:57 AM ^
"Are you not entertained?"
Actually, I think "Mad Max" works better.
November 18th, 2014 at 9:15 AM ^
While I appreciate his enthusiasm, the color guy was definitely taking his commentary to some weird places, capped off by him informing Coach B of his new pet name for Max. It was pretty damn awkward.
November 18th, 2014 at 11:49 AM ^
That guy was awful, the whole game. This year's Michigan student announcers were better than the B1G Network guys.
November 17th, 2014 at 10:47 PM ^
The Maximus thing from Davis was really old by the 2nd or 3rd time. After 20 it was ridiculously annoying.

This was awesome. I'm standing in the studen section and turn to my friend and go "Why the f*** is Bielfeldt coming in?". He then drained a 3 and shut me up real quick.
November 18th, 2014 at 1:54 AM ^
I read your second sentence as "standing with a sudden erection" and the rest of your post still made sense!
November 18th, 2014 at 7:44 AM ^
Was it a Maximus Erection?
November 17th, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
To see Max turn into the player that we shortly saw with Mitch, even though it seems like Mitch never really played due to his injuries etc.
November 17th, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
Is this Pokemon or something??
A wild Max Bielfeldt appears.
Beilein uses subs.
The wild Max Beilfeldt goes crazy.
November 17th, 2014 at 11:00 PM ^
Did I miss something or has Seth Davis always been a sophomoric rube?
November 17th, 2014 at 11:34 PM ^
MAXIMUS!
MAXIMUS!

It's the beginning of the end, my friend. She'll believe what you say less and less, and in a few years, she'll tell you she wants to go to college in East Lansing.

It's super effective!
November 17th, 2014 at 11:17 PM ^
When Bielfeldt took that first 3-pointer I was like "whaaaat are you doiOH MY GOD!"
Score 18 points, get a body guard.
November 18th, 2014 at 9:58 AM ^
He could be the body guard's body guard.
I noticed in the first game that Max had developed a shot this year. I think he stroked a 10 footer for all net that game, and looked good doing it. Good to see, happy for the senior and his calves.
November 17th, 2014 at 11:17 PM ^
If Bielfeldt keeps this up... does the prognosis on the season change (granted it was Bucknell but still)? Think Beilein is gonna keep him out there longer to see whether he can keep it up throughout the year?
November 17th, 2014 at 11:35 PM ^
He could play a decent offensive role if this wasn't a fluke, but I can't see him playing serious minutes still. He is highly undersized as a five and even had defensive lapses tonight. Don't get me wrong, it is very encouraging to see him progress his offensive game, but I just don't think his defense and size will cut it in Big Ten play.

Best shooter I've seen, and yes that includes Stauskas
November 18th, 2014 at 4:49 AM ^
I know we're having subs, but let's not get too crazy..
November 17th, 2014 at 11:31 PM ^
This was great to see and this team looks like one that is going to be fun to watch yet again. I joked about it on Twitter, but if this keeps up, a few "Max MF Bielfeldt" signs would loo kpretty cool in Crisler, I would think. Nice performance tonight from him indeed.
November 17th, 2014 at 11:43 PM ^
I'm aware that our players our improving. Gotta love that!
Maximilian
November 17th, 2014 at 11:44 PM ^
You can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him.
November 17th, 2014 at 11:47 PM ^
It is Max Bielfeldt's world, we're just living in it.
November 18th, 2014 at 12:01 AM ^
He seemed to play the best defensively tonight. I predict he keeps his calves covered from here on out.
November 18th, 2014 at 4:05 AM ^
November 18th, 2014 at 12:20 AM ^
Beilein said this offseason no one in the Big 10 could check Max. Dont doubt Coach B!
A fun night but reality is he was facing guys who athletically he was similar to. Will be a step up in athleticism in the Big 10 but I do think we can get a good 10-13 minutes a night MOST nights out of Max and that would be great for all invovled.
The good thing with this deep of a rotation is we can find the hot hand each night and ride that dude barring foul trouble. And we have 20 fouls to give at that positions with Donyle, Max and DJ. Not that we foul that often but instead of letting teams waltz to the rim we can at least make them earn it at the foul line when necessary.
Fun fact - Max scored more tonight than the entire 2013-2014 season.
November 18th, 2014 at 12:27 AM ^
Donnoylefeldt went for 29 and 11 tonight.

Loved the game last night, but those announcers were really bad. The one kept talking about having a crush on Caris LeVert.
Is this what it feels like to have a complete homer calling your games? How do MSU and IU fans stand it?
November 18th, 2014 at 3:50 PM ^
If he keeps that up, the ladies are gonna be after that middle calf.
And it is a Max Bielfeldt calf, mind you.
