There has been much talk around these here parts about the inability of the players and mainly the coaches the past few days after debacle that took place on Saturday. I think the real issue here is with Adidas. Since the addition of Adidas as our official supplier we all have seen how untight the jerseys fit which has obviously affected the play on the field. I think this weekend will be a telling factor, as Michigan will hopefully unveil there new more compressed football jerseys, in how long Dave Brandon will allow this ineptitude of our outfitter. Hopefully they will be able to turn it around and we do not see this season turn out the same as the last 2. Who knows, it could only be short time until fan-favorite Nike gets the call...
Who's REALLY to blame here...
I don't know. I think their invention of poutine makes up for all of the football team's woes.
if we all had vuvuzelas.
I have one of those navy blue really thick Champion sweatshirts that the MDEN used to sell. They are really warm, especially on cold winter days.
All in for FILA
I still have my blue Champion sweatshirt that I purchased from the Union with my EntreePlus money back in 1993. Outstanding!
Dude's average on Halloween weekend is a paltry .125. That's not gonna get it done, despite his stellar defense.
I blame it on the piping specifically. We can keep Adidas, but only if they fire the piping.
I don't see how you can blame Adidas. I mean they've done quite well in Non-Conference play. They've just struggled in the Big Ten. We need to give them one more year to get acclimated to the colder temperatures as the season goes along. You can't ditch them when they handle one part of the season so darn well.
However...who would the next supplier be? I like Under Armour and would give everyone black Oakley visors.
He's only 32-34 on save chances. With a ton of walks and hits. It's not just going to get it done. PLus he can't even wear his hat straight!!
I blame the U.S. Army. Ever since they dropped a guy out of an airplane into the Big House, this team hasn't been the same.
His illegal entry screwed with us badly.
Legit serviceman = Good dude
Fake serviceman = Fear of dude holding sawwed off automatic weapons + Hatred of all things maize and blue
You're close, but I think it was the guy who snuck into the stadium that day. The Army is partially responsible because their presence made it easier for him to sneak in.
you. you're really to blame. take some responsibility, dammit!
you may be right... im 23, I dont think I can hide behind my youth anymore...
No one ever suspects the butterfly...
Why does everything always have to be about YOU?
Blame October. September has always been a good month. November usually has one or two nice surprises. October has had it out for this team from the get go. I blame October.
Who's to blame or who's REALLY to blame?
There's a difference, you know.
The real question: Who is SERIOUSLY to blame?
I can't believe these guys never lasted. Probably had the best pure vocals of anyone.
It's always his fault. Just ask him!
It's been 36 hours since the debacle, and our leader has been eerily silent. Entire factions of Rodriguez-head-callers and stay-the-coursers are hinging on his wisdom, and it is with this understanding that he weighs heavily on his decisions, much like a weary Abraham Lincoln in 1861. I do not envy his position... his hair, perhaps, but not this scenario that calls upon his leadership and opinion.
Personally, I have given Rich my oath, because he is the head football coach of the team I have sworn allegiance to. But I will certainly admit it, I felt that this game was in no uncertain terms a must win, and when a department fails, you blame the head of that department. I don't know what the answer is, but I know that for all of the losses, this is the second one that I cannot find an acceptable excuse for. If that means I'm a FireRichRodder, then so be it.
Dave Brandon is Abe Lincoln
RR is US Grant
and GERG is George Meade
Meade at least held at the Battle of Gettysburg.
GERG is something like George McClellan. A guy who seems to be ok, and everybody wishes were ok, but really, its not ok.
Using this logic:
Calvin Magee is William Sherman. Obvi.
Scott Shafer is Ambrose Burnside. Promoted above his level of competence. Prone to rash attacks in winter across a river towards a stone wall in Fredricksburg.
McClellan is who I had in mind.
You are +1'd
As much as McClellan is the Fail Whale of the Union Army, it has been argued by historians that McClellan's genius was in turning the Army of the Potomac into a well-drilled fighting machine, able to execute orders, even if the orders were not good.
So respectfully, no, Mr. Robinson is not General McClellan.
General Ambrose Everett Burnside. As stated by Tacopants, both were promoted to something over their head (I'm thinking Robinson at Syracuse). Both best known for their immaculately kept hairstyling and epic perceptional disasters under their watch (Burnside's role in the Battle of the Crater, Robinson with the 2010 defense.)
Now that I've had some more time to think about it, Robinson is really Irvin McDowell. Promoted above his level of competence. Inexperienced N00bs. Ambitious plans for Manassas, VA that never really worked out and turned into complete routs.
Then he was exiled to California. We should be so lucky.
The slaughter will commence if we don't beat Illinois
I think we might need to prepare for the "slaughter" then.
Nancy Pelosi's fault. Ever since she became House speaker, it has been downhill for our beloved Blue.
george w. bush.
The amount of wins and losses with the Adidas jerseys are quite
look good, feel good, play good.
This was very refreshing. Thank you for the good laugh.
Some of the exhaled air from Ruckers lungs had an elevated levels of heat. After passing thru the BAL device it mixed with high levels of ozone( being that it contained alcohol it was lighter than normal air). this caused a slight temperature spike. onr of the oxygen groupings fell off from the ozone chain, thus creating an updraft /downdraft cycle. this fluctuated the cold Canadian air, which shifted slightly the tradewinds. Causing a late season monsoon in the indian ocean. pulling cold water upwelling from the eastern pacific. which caused a mini la nina effect. pushing warm air from the southern california desert, to the rocky mountains, causing a chinnook effect over the plains and through the Ohio valley. where it stalled over the mid Appalachians, causing a small breeze to push the pass just slightly beyond Roundtrees reach. Damn drunk spartans.
If we're talking weather, I blame it on El Nino.
He's getting blamed for just about everything, so why not this, too?
Finally, someone else gets it. I've almost had to unupdate my sig because it's been taking so long.
I thought the jerseys were debuted that week?
I don't believe so, and if they have I'm changing my sig back. The cues to look for are the box-collar, and that Vincent Smith doesn't look like he's wearing a poncho that's a size too big. You'll notice when they do, it's a pretty distinct difference from what I've seen with Notre Dame.
When a friend of mine (an ND fan) heard that Michigan was switching from Nike to Adidas he said "Michigan is gonna suck now. Tennessee and Notre Dame have sucked since they got Adidas uniforms". I can't say I disagree. Look how great those teams are doing these days. Adidas is the culprit - off with its head! We need to get a good ol' fashioned American outfitter back in here! I want Nike to make us some whacky, futuristic uniforms like they do for Oregon!
