Who is your favorite Sparty?
Well its that time of year again. M vs Sparty. We had a similar discussion during the softball season. I ask you; Who is your favorite Sparty?
I was asked this question in front of my sister. Without hesitation I answered, "Carol Hutchins". My sister piped up and said. "Did you forget? I'm a Sparty"
I calmly answered, "You are my second favorite" She was pissed.

I'll tip my cap to Brad Van Pelt, one of mid-Michigan's best ever athletes.

Biggest athlete to ever come out of the small town of Owosso that I grew up in. Football, basketball, baseball, he did it all.
He was really good friend's with my friend's dad too so I met him a few times. Its such a shame that we lost him so early.

Great answer. Brad Van Pelt was an amazing athlete and a truely great guy. I grew up watching him excell in all sports and never change even when he became an All Pro in the NFL. He was the same guy that I watched as a kid mashing fast pitch softballs over the fence just about every time up and having a blast with all the people playing and watching.
He overcame his Sparty days by never being changed by them and always being the same guy both before and after.

In view of the extreme class exhibited by the MSU marching band a few weeks ago in the face of the tragic death of one of our band members, I have to say kudos to their band.
I hate everything else related to MSU football this week.

Pausanias. Couldn't have won at Plataea without him.

Though Magic is up there for me too, being at game 1 of the 1988 world series kinda seals the deal for me.

Unlike Craig James, Kwame only killed one hooker.

I hate all MSU people. Their existence alone causes me to have a resentment every day, 365 days a year.

John Smoltz & Kirk Gibson

Both attended school for less than a semester in order to posture the MLB teams that drafted them.

Well I guess that way, we can count Madona as blue. Helps a bit with the stereotypes of the M women.

Aloysius Anagonye. Wicked cool name and he just seemed like one BAMF. I like Kirk Gibson as well.
October 14th, 2011 at 12:25 AM ^
Kirk Cousins. He's a class act, even if I find myself hating his guts every time he completes a pass.

Because he kept my drug dealing business afloat about 8 years back

The ONLY time I even considered rooting for Sparty was when Magic was lighting up the court for Jud.
And I never liked Miller Lite until Bubba enlightened us about the easy-opening cans.

My niece Maria. A smart and pretty Spartan. From a long line of Wolverines, we have a Sparty. Gotta love family.

Probably Mark Hollis just because I laugh like a little girl at his inane tweets (@MSUAD).
Seriously. He has abused the English language several times (switching your and you're for example). My favorite was when The Situation was coming to a game, and he tweeted that he found it "humerous".
But in actual seriousness, my (step) sister, Melissa/"Missy"

Letttttttt's seeeeeeee.......who would be my favorite Spartan?
Tell you what, why don't you ask everyone else and come back to me later. I have to think about his a bit more.

He helps me out as the "Freddy Kruger" of weapon safety rule violator when I'm at the gun range.
Treat every weapon as if it was loaded...check
Never point your weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot....check
Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until the decision to shoot has been made...check
Keep your weapon on safe till the decision to shoot has been made...check
PB rule "disregard all and check your Gat you got stuffed in your waistband before entering the club."
October 14th, 2011 at 10:58 AM ^
Don't forget the unofficial fifth weapons safety rule. "Know your target, what lies beyond, and in between."

Smith, Peterson, Cleaves, Bell. They're all still around Flint, even Bell and Peterson who are both in the NBA, I think. Those tattoos actually meant something real.
