Who is your favorite Sparty?

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

Well its that time of year again.  M vs Sparty.  We had a similar discussion during the softball season.  I ask you; Who is your favorite Sparty?

I was asked this question in front of my sister.  Without hesitation I answered, "Carol Hutchins".  My sister piped up and said. "Did you forget? I'm a Sparty"

I calmly answered, "You are my second favorite"  She was pissed.

Biggest athlete to ever come out of the small town of Owosso that I grew up in. Football, basketball, baseball, he did it all.

He was really good friend's with my friend's dad too so I met him a few times. Its such a shame that we lost him so early.

Great answer.  Brad Van Pelt was an amazing athlete and a truely great guy.  I grew up watching him excell in all sports and never change even when he became an All Pro in the NFL.  He was the same guy that I watched as a kid mashing fast pitch softballs over the fence just about every time up and having a blast with all the people playing and watching.

He overcame his Sparty days by never being changed by them and always being the same guy both before and after.

In view of the extreme class exhibited by the MSU marching band a few weeks ago in the face of the tragic death of one of our band members, I have to say kudos to their band.

I hate everything else related to MSU football this week.

The ONLY time I even considered rooting for Sparty was when Magic was lighting up the court for Jud.

And I never liked Miller Lite until Bubba enlightened us about the easy-opening cans.

Probably Mark Hollis just because I laugh like a little girl at his inane tweets (@MSUAD).

Seriously. He has abused the English language several times (switching your and you're for example). My favorite was when The Situation was coming to a game, and he tweeted that he found it "humerous".

But in actual seriousness, my (step) sister, Melissa/"Missy"

He helps me out as the "Freddy Kruger" of weapon safety rule violator when I'm at the gun range.

Treat every weapon as if it was loaded...check

Never point your weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot....check

Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until the decision to shoot has been made...check

Keep your weapon on safe till the decision to shoot has been made...check

PB rule "disregard all and check your Gat you got stuffed in your waistband before entering the club."

Smith, Peterson, Cleaves, Bell. They're all still around Flint, even Bell and Peterson who are both in the NBA, I think. Those tattoos actually meant something real.
