Who is your 2nd favorite team?

I think I have found a second favorite team, The Campbell Fighting Camels.
I have watch college basketball for over 20 years and had no clue there was a fighting camel mascot!

Was just talking to a co-worker about how many great players they had in the last decade. Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch, Desean Jackson, Jahvid Best to name a few... Just bad timing with the USC juggernaut in the same conference during that time.

Stanford. I respect how they've succeeded even with their high academic standards. I love their band. I like the mascot - Cardinal is quirky. And I love northern California. Also, how many teams have a player with a photographic memory who can read plays in the blink of an eye and then help design plays on the sidelines based on his split-second encyclopedic knowledge?

I vaguely recall that you live in Evanston (not positive, might be wrong.) But if you do live in Evanston or the area, how come (given the reasons you like Stanford) aren't you a NW fan? My sisters live there, and I see that if I was there instead of near Wheaton, I'd probably follow NW just a bit.

Mine changes all the time. Whichever non-b1g team is playing well that season. Sometimes during a particular game I'll cheer for the underdog. My 2nd favorite b1g team is definitely Northwestern.

UNC - Chapel Hill is amazing and it is a great University. The BBall fanbase is second to none, too. Loyola Marymount - spectacular views and Hank Gathers!!!! Great film program, too.

I went to The University of Charleston, so Michigan is obviously the #2 school for me, but I love Michigan sports (born and raised in SE Michigan, though to buckeye parents) since UC is DII. Aside from those, I like Ohio because all my family and friends went there and my family still lives about 15 minutes from Athens. Always a soft spot in my heart for them. I guess I don't mind Miami, after living there for several years and going to a lot of games there. I can live without all others though.

I went to grad school to get a phd in history. needless to say, there weren't too many colleagues of mine who liked sports, except my one buddy who's a Washington fan. The first few seasons it was a disaster, we lost to App State and then went 3-9. He went 0-12. But, we both stuck to it (we went to the Sugar Bowl, I'm hoping to fly out new Husky Stadium next year).

Washington's been a fun team to root for. They've got a ton of talent, they're university outlook is similar to Michigan's, etc. Pretty pumped to see what Petersen does.

but not so much now (especially with Alford there).  If I had to pick another school it would probably be Butler (although I haven't seem them play this year).

UNLV is my second favorite team. Living in Vegas (Henderson), I go to a lot of their games. The basketball games are usually fun, I know a teacher who gets student tickets from UNLV students and we sit there for free. The football games are usually terrible, although they did make a bowl for the first time in 100 years or something. You can drink at both of the games. Alcohol makes for a rowdy 8 PM PST Saturday night crowd in basketball. You can almost feel the venom directed at the other team. When New Mexico, San Diego St, BYU, and UNLV were on top of the Mountain West in basketball, the Thomas & Mack, for those games, was the loudest place I have ever been. I couldn't even talk to the person next to me it was that loud. UNLV vs BYU is one game I definitely miss. The hate that flows from the UNLV fans is incredible (Half of Las Vegas is Mormon too). UNLV basketball is having a down year, and really have no homecourt advantage this season, but I will be at the game tonight against Boise St!

I have family that lives in Albuquerque most of the year, and having spent time there and attending a Lobos football game (yet to see a basketball game at "The Pit" but I can't wait to, it's a great venue from everything I've heard and seen on TV), I have taking a liking to the campus and the teams.  It's not anything like Michigan fandom, especially being an alum, but I do find it fun to have another team to follow and root for, and I have actually enjoyed watching the Mountain West develop into a formidable conference going even further back than liking the Lobos.  The football team has fallen on hard times, they used to be decently good under head coach Rocky Long who went to San Diego St. as DC under Brady Hoke, and then replaced Hoke as HC for the Aztecs.  Lobo basketball has been pretty solid for a long time, and dominated the conference under current UCLA coach Steve Alford (I know, I know), and they are still a pretty good bet to make the NCAA tourney, probably as the 2nd or 3rd team out of the MWC.

Don't really have a set 2nd favorite team... I like to root for my prospective colleges as a current high school junior, just as long as they aren't playing UM which they typically aren't.
