Who would you like to see on the Non-Conference schedule in 2016

With a pretty tough schedule being on the road at notre dame wisconsin, nebraska and ohio, Michigan needs a lighter non-conference schedule this year I think. Colorado is already your respectable BCS conference opponent. I think Michigan should open up the year against EMU, because they are going 5 years without playing a school down the road. I also would like to see Michigan bring in Texas State. A school who is new to Division I-FBS this season, would be cool to see a new team come into The Big House.
However though, another team I want a shot at is Toledo. Bring them on.

Yep and the more I think about it, I believe I would like to start scheduling some of those few schools we have losing records against and putting them in the plus column. Anyone have the list handy?
I would like to see them schedule Army as Army is one of the very few teams that UM has a losing record against. I would like to see that rectified.
Delaware and Army. Make it happen.
If Delaware says no...bring on Princeton.
And if you can get them, a really bad BCS team. I've always wanted to play Duke to make them play us in our sport just like we've been playing them in basketball. You need one power team, one respectable program, one pretty bad program, and now with a fourth game, the cupcake du jour. Anything tougher than that and you're just asking to get bounced from any national contention. (I'll believe it when I see it Re: "strength of schedule" and people voting a team with a tough schedule and one good loss over an undefeated team. It hasn't really happened for the last 100 years, so I'm not expecting human nature to change now).

The direction is in the middle.
East Carolina, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, and Western Kentucky and are bad.
But where does Middle Tennessee State fall? It is sort of a geographic reference.
East Carolina is actually leading with a directional since it's ECU.
Right, he's saying that one is bad. But University of North Dakota, however, is just fine.
Right and so is University of South Dakota and University of Northern Iowa. Got it.
However the quandary yet to be resolved is what about Middle Tennessee State? We have to decide if it is a direction or not, Blue Raiders everywhere eagerly await the verdict.

Oh, you meant in football? Silly boy, UCSC doesn’t play a combatant sport like football. They surf, swim, skate, run, hacky-sack, and disk golf competitively. A sport like football is too war-like and might be dangerous to all their piercings.
Yeah, they don't even watch football up in Santa Cruz. It's like, hella harsh, man. Plus it takes time away from the acid.

I am amazed how hard it is to even get a baseball game or any sporting event on the radio up here. There is only one San Fran sports station’s signal that is minutely strong enough and that relies on a clear day and higher elevations.
I remember being able to listen to WJR and Tiger games clear into Iowa, hundreds of miles away. (Actually, they were cornfields, no bs. /s)
Two best uni's, great academic institutions, at the biggest stadium in the land ...... yeah I would host Texas anytime they wanted to make the trip.
I would really love to see a home-and-home with LSU, but not in 2016. In 2016, I would like to see us play a middle-tier BCS school like UNC, Virginia, or Missouri.
Alabama, USC, Texas, Georgia

I have been waiting for a Michigan-Harvard match up. If we're going to schedule weaker teams, I think they should at least be from well branded schools. Even though it would likely be a blow out, we could get good coverage with all the talk of old-timey football. The only down side would be the obvious use of throw-back uniforms.
but they don't count toward bowl eligibility. Because the Ivy League prohibits merit scholarships (such as football scholarships), they don't count for the bowl minimum. I'd like to think that in 2016 it wouldn't matter if we need seven or eight wins, but who knows?
DB won't risk our newly minted bowl streak to play Harvard instead of Army or someone.
And that we would be limited to 11 guys, with substitutions for injuries. We'd get to see Denard Robinson as a cornerback. Jordan Kovacs as a running back. What fun.
That nonconference schedule looks alot like the 97 season. The only thing left to do is put in Baylor. You know how the rest goes.

If there is only a four-team playoff and it's not limited to champions only, I would rather see two directional schools there. You want the easy games to make sure there is no chance of losing, and to cut down on fatigue and injuries as a factor during the remainder of the season.
Also, since both games are slotted before rivalry games, it would be even better to see Michigan get a chance to get sharp for the next week in both games.
As long as the playoffs are still a beauty contest determined by emotions as opposed to transparent metrics, any team with playoff aspirations would be stupid to risk losing a pre-conference game. ND and Colorado are enough for the pollsters and the computers which will invariably come into play, and the Michigan and Big Ten brands are good enough for the human element, as long as Michigan doesn't lose more than one game in any given season.
Let's just get it over with before it happens in a Rose Bowl.
As a Rice alum I'd love to play them again in the Big House. Texas or Tennessee would be fun too. Maybe Miami (YTM)
Rose Bowl? UA has never made the Rose Bowl once in their entire history.

'their entire history' only encompasses going back to 1978 when they and ASU joined the PAC 8. Prior to that they had no chance to ever go to the Rose Bowl. So only 34 years of Rose Bowl futility, which is better than Indiana and Minnesota.
Right, because Arizona had so many incredible seasons before that. Penn State has a legit excuse for going to so few Rose Bowls. Arizona does not.

Get a decent MAC snack (WMU, Toledo, etc.) then either Navy or an ACC team.
I wouldn't mind seeing an upper tier Pac-12 opponent like USC or Stanford (although we play Utah two years in a row before that and they aren't typically a slouch), and possibly someone from the ACC such as Clemson or Florida State. I wouldn't mind seeing non-conference scheduling of a quality such as what I remember when I was an undergraduate (and before then, of course).

I like starting off with a cupcake to tune up the team in real game atmosphere. The last non conference game I'd like to play a top 10 team, historically speaking. So Florida , Alabama , USC, LSU or oregon. If you win a game like that it does wonders for your team and if you lose it doesn't hurt that bad.
A prime example is alabama this year. If we win they'll start talking national championship game but, if we lose we lost to the defending national champion so who cares.
