Looked like he was talking shit to Beilein & our bench. I was wondering the same thing though. I understand a player doing something like that but a coach? You stay classy Ohio State.

Turner reacted as if he had been there before, expected it to go in, realized that it wasn't the National Championship game, etc.

Pretty ridiculous that the 20(?)-year-old shows far more maturity and class than the middle-aged coach.

I really hate Matta. There's a chance he was yelling at the officials that the basket should count and that they should not review the play. It is more likely that he was just being a dick.

Yeah, no doubt in my mind he was yelling at Beilien and the bench. He was a classless douchebag before this game. He is even more classless because of this action, and he will continue to be a classless punk until the sun burns out.

How do you worship a God who gives miracle game-winning shots to such a prick as Thad Matta? I want to invent time travel just so I can go back in time and be un-bar mitzvahed.

It can either clear the speculation up, or show Matta as the biggest douche in college basketball.

Ok Michigan fans, I want you to know that I'm a Virginia Tech fan born and raised in Richmond, VA, and I joined this message board for the sole purpose of telling you a lovely story about Thad Matta.

Back before Coach Beilein was at WVU, he coached the University of Richmond. Matta, at the time, was at Xavier. Both play in the A-10. One conference game in Richmond between the Spiders and Xavier turned ugly at the end, when Xavier came back from a large deficit to win near at the end. Star player David West (N.O. Hornets) immediately leaned over the railing restraining the student section to taunt and talk. He was pulled back before the students could get to him.

Both teams exit through the same tunnel to get to their locker rooms. According to a friend of mine who was the team manager at the time, and who was standing in the tunnel as it happened, Xavier players instigated a brawl with Richmond players. While Coach Beilein was in the middle of it, attempting to break things up, Matta was leaning against the wall, laughing at the scuffle, soaking up his glory.

When Coach Beilein noticed this, he quickly approached Matta, put a finger in his face and yelled for him to take his classless bunch of thugs and get the hell out of Richmond. Of course, you can imagine that the words Coach Beilein used are not appropriate to be printed in this forum.

Anyways, I assure you, though I am only a transplant Michigan basketball fan thanks to my favorite coach in America, I hate Thad Matta just as much as all of you, and I have for about 10 years now.

You stay classy, Ohio State.

...says he was yelling at Belein because Coach B was the only coach who didn't vote Turner as POY. And I hate CBus sports radio. Office problem. If that's the case then Matta is the perfect d-bag to go along with the rest of my neighbors here in Central Ohio. And up close he does have a face right out of the banjo scene in Deliverance. Just put some coveralls and dirt on him...
It has been a brutal stretch living here lately. I was way too kind during the Cooper years. I've been making a list and need this worm to turn before I have to start another page.

I used to think of Matta as another Steve Fisher, a basically good guy who seemed a little clueless as to what was going on. I think I've given him way too much credit.

If he was taunting/yelling at Beilein for not voting Turner for an award, wow, that's incredibly dickish.

I don't usually make jokes of how people look, but he just struck me as such a prick today. Never did like him to start with, but whether he was yelling at Beilein or Hightower or whomever, that was just prickish.

It was probably out of line, but not as absurd as you all make it sound. Then again, I'd be upset too if my team hadn't won the Big Ten outright since 1986. Probably some lingering effects of six straight losses in football too... Beilein isn't a saint either, the way he bailed from WVU for money.

Bottom line is, Michigan isn't up on a pedestal and neither is OSU. We feel the same way about you and your coaches. Only difference is, we've been better at football and basketball for more than a decade. So SHUT IT!

"More than a decade" is a bit of an overstatement. Last ~8 years is fair. From 1988-2003 we were 11-4-1 against you in football. Enjoy it now, times will change, always happens. Now, get off our website, I think there's a Nascar race you're missing!

Michigan fan: Nothing is fucked here ... man.

Everyone other person
on planet Earth: Nothing is fucked? The airplane ... has crashed into ... the mountain!

Michigan will never pull out of its tailspin as long as its delusional fans pretend there is nothing wrong. You guys would rather blame Thad Matta's nose than admit that your coach fucked up.

Colin Cowherd noticed it in football three years ago. Did scUM fans react by demanding accountability? No. They wrote to Colin, flaming away, while everyone laughed at them. You are all Neros fiddling while Ann Arbor burns. Don't kill the messenger.

If you won't admit it publicly on this board, at least admit it to yourself. Michigan has completely lost its way in football and men's basketball. You brought in an oily carpetbagger to coach the football team, and he cheated and still couldn't win. You have a basketball coach whose head is so far up his own asshole that he failed to vote for the best player in the nation as Big 10 player of the year. That's not Thad Matta's fault. Dry up, you fucking crybabies. Take a look in the mirror and stop making lame excuses.

... when your team is the defending Rose Bowl champion and it's been so long since your team's former rival has beaten your team in football (2307 days to be exact, according to the Dispatch's running tally) that (a) you can barely remember it; and (b) most people don't even consider it a rivalry any more.

My life is certainly going much better than yours, Micihgan fan. The only thing you have to look forward to is yet another ass whipping on November 27th.

... for me to continue beating a dead horse. Or a dead Wolverine, as the case may be. So I will retire from the boards. But you guys really need to sac up. At this point, you're worse than the golden domers.

And I know you know it's true. When I said that all you had to look forward to was another ass whipping on Nov. 27th, not one person called me on it. The game is eight months away and it is inconceivable--even to the most rabid, irrational Michigan fans on the planet--that the Wolverines might have any chance whatsoever to win. Let's call it the Columbus Death March.

Kthxbye.

"And I know you know it's true."

I'm pretty sure that all anyone here knows is that you are an insignificant, petty little man.

"The game is eight months away and it is inconceivable--even to the most rabid, irrational Michigan fans on the planet--that the Wolverines might have any chance whatsoever to win."

Is your quarterback still Terrelle Pryor? Is your coach still Jim Tressel? Yeah, we have more than a small chance to win.

Listen, it's great that you have "owned" us in sports. Really great for the Big Ten when such a classy fanbase, the most widely and obviously hated in the Big Ten, is our representation to the rest of the nation. But remember, life is about more than sports. Some things, like family, your career, your education, have nothing to do with whether or not a 20 year old with misplaced role models can throw a pass.

So please, go back to school. Your maturity level on this board show that you're nothing more than a "man" with massive issues of insecurity and questionable intellect. A few more years at one of tOSU's "fine" "professional" "programs" could do you well.
