... I'm in the long term fight to convince my wife that the name Haley would make a great name for any future daughter we may have.  Why is that important you may ask?  Because I'm also in a similar fight to give her the middle name Victoria.  My wife has no idea of my alterior motives, nor would I ever tell her.  If I can pull this off... aye, to dream.

While the venue is cool, having been on that field in that kind of weather, I can't think of a less comfortable place to be in wedding wear than the turf at Michigan Stadium on a sunny afternoon in wedding season.  More power to the happy couple, though.

Got married in ann arbor in 2001. Went to the big house for wedding pictures. Had the groomsmen line up as OL (I'm the center with the football). Bride is under center with 2 bridesmaids in the backfield in Pro formation and 2 split out left and right. My favorite picture of all time and always a conversation starter.

I gotta say, it's kind of a shame that the stadium has been all but shuttered to everyone but those who pay, whether it's for a tour or a photo op or what.  I miss being able to run steps in there.  And, never fail, there'd be a dozen tourist-types in there at all times just jaw-dropped taking pictures.  Even ran into a whole family of Ohio folks one time, in Buckeye gear and all, wowed at being able to walk around.

I guess I just don't see the harm in the stadium being open to the public during the week, or what's changed with the boxes.  If the doors lock, what's the issue?

I've had about enough of Dave Brandon.  The field is holy ground where battles occur not a place to rent out to increase your bottom line.  DB reminds of a politician in that he lets these idea ballons out to see public reaction before acting (mascot, OSU game).  He's also very good at half truths with the throwback jerseys being a prime example.  While I'm extremely happy with the night game I personally can't wait for DB to move on.

That's a valid gripe, actually.

We are truly fortunate that football is such a revenue generator, and that our athletic dpeartment is healthy.  We need to walk a fine line between maximizing that revenue and not selling out.  That's DB's tough job, and people naturally differ on how well they think he's balancing it.

However, IMO, the wedding thing doesn't bug me so much and I wouldn't put it in the "ways DB has crossed the line" column.  I say that partly because I don't see how weddings are going to be a big revenue generator.  IMO, he's found a new way to allow some truly diehard, maniac fans interact with their most hallowed of places.   The fee is expensive enough that they're not likely to be overwhelmed with takers, but not so expensive that the AD can replace the toilet paper in Schembechler with $100 bills.

But I'm also super freaking cheap; maybe $6000 is a bargain to people and they'll fill the place every available weekend.  Then I'll look askance.

The price seems high.  A wedding at Duke Chapel, (as far as iconic buildings go, Michigan Stadium is to Michigan as Duke Chapel is to Duke), costs much less.  It's less by a factor of about 5...and that includes the fee for the organ player.

I expect gameday to be In AA for the Notre Dame game and I was talking to a buddy about making a sign proposing to my girlfriend and maybe getting gameday to film it. How corny does that sound? Has it been done before? I would assumed it has but I have never seen it.

Many women are very lonely at a certain age. Previously, they were called old maids and they lived alone all their lives. Now there is an opportunity to fix this and register on a dating site to find some kind of life partner. There are even sites for fat people, so no one will be left out.

Not me. Definitely. Getting married isn't in my plans. I prefer dating different people (not at the same time though). I prefer to go site and find a dating platform that will meet my needs. Reviews there are very useful and help to choose the best one.
