This is weird as shit. I actually had a mint julep last night at The Viceroy in GR to bring back memories of the Kentucky Derby. It wasn't nearly as good -- but close enough.

The last time I had a mint julep is last April when my (female) friend/co-worker and I had to go to San Antonio for a conference. She introduced me to Pat O'Brien's where I had a hurricane, mint julep and then another hurricane. (Note: this is a bad idea. Hurricanes are much, much stronger than they taste and it is impossible to realize this until you physically try to stand up.)
We then proceded to the Coyote Ugly bar where we consumed an unknown number of beers. The last thing I remember is high-fiving and shouting, "GO BLUEEEE!" at strangers along the River Walk on our way back to the hotel. Also I definitely woke up not in the dress I wore out, so there's that.
Best slash worst night ever.

What's more disgusting? Bathtub mint julep, or garbage can yucca flats?
The latter was my uncle's drink of choice when he was my age.
