Who needs Miami tickets? Plenty still available!

Submitted by Bando Calrissian on

I'm playing around on MGoBlue.com right now, and it's amazing how many tickets are available in large blocks. Even with StubHub out there, when was the last time, on a Tuesday before a home game, you could secure a such an astronomical amount of contiguous seats directly from the Athletic Department?

Just think, an entire eight-row section all to myself! Only $7300!

I thought the department was touting dynamic pricing.  This seems like the perfect case to apply that dynamic pricing downwards.

If it weren't for the piped in music, this would be a great day to take my son to the game.  Supposed to be a beautiful fall day, lot's of room to spread out and run.

For anyone that has not been to a game due to cost, I highly recommend making an attempt to go this weekend.  By parking a little ways away, you can get free street parking, and tickets close to the stadium should be very inexpensive.  Add in the beautiful fall day in AA, and it should be a great experience.

I have never been to a game so I'm thinking about doing that on Saturday. Do scalpers stand around the stadium with ticket signs or do you have to look for them at a certain location?

My biggest reason for not using stubhub is the instand download. I wanna keep the actual ticket stub.

Some tickets aren't instant download and they will have delivery instructions (mail, will-call, etc.)  Of course you'd want to decide soon and do priority shipping if that's the route you take, not sure about the costs on that (I typically do instant download, so I don't know what it's like).

If anyone is selling tickets, they'll let you know about it.  They'll usually have them above their head and be asking everyone that passes by "Tickets?  Tickets?"  They're not easy to miss.

Scalpers start on the street corners several blocks out from the stadium.  If you're starting in town North of the stadium, walk down Main or State streets toward the Big House.  State street has the frat houses, Main Street has the restaurants and more family-oriented tailgates.  Both are fun to see and give you a great warm-up to the atmosphere.  Walking up to the Big House on gameday is one of the best experiences of being a Michigan fan.  The site is breathtaking, I never tire of it.

But to your question, there will be scalpers on almost every corner.  If you go State Street, more than likely there will be a few students selling theirs in front of the frat houses (though obviously you'll have to sit in the student section).  Scalpers are easy to spot because they're yelling tickets.  "Normal" people - who probably give you a better deal - will walk silently with tickets held above their head.  As people are mentioning, you can probably get a pretty good deal given the opponent and last week.

One note: this is likely to be a muted version of the Big House.  ND took a lot of air out of everyone's sails, and likely will the crowd.  But it should be a beautiful day in Ann Arbor.

Actual attendance for this one is going to be interesting.  I know we will "sell out" but I would not be surprised for there to be about 90K actually in the stands.  The opponent is bad and the results last week are dispiriting.

Anyhow attendance is issue #48 out of all issues for anyone but Brandon, there are a litany of other things to worry about ahead of that.  Build a winner and they will come.  Otherwise this happens.

for those who wait---a friend called me on the Thursday before the Appy State game, he and his wife were given a coupon off the coupon printers that day at Meijer for that same deal (ticket, hot dog, t-shirt, drink, and program)---but only $50, though.  Being a sparty fan, he decided to call and rub it in a bit---bastard!!!

on the secondary market, about a month ago, for low 30's. The other day, I was given 4 more tickets through the Vettix.org. I will never turn down a chance to watch Michigan football or being at the Big House. Though, it looks like they are trying hard to fill the seats on Saturday!

Had the choice between $25 endzone seats and $60 seats in section 44 (row 50 ish). Decided to splurge for the nicer seats, figured I won't have too many opportunities to sit there for that much in the future.

We are playing the absolute worst Div 1 opponent. A good game to take small kids to as the competition will be over by mid second quarter. One of these a year (especially for the first game) is okay at $74 a pop. Two or more... I mean really?

My HS daughter went with her friend to App. State for $28/each doing very little negotiating with scalpers. This week's prices should be lower and plenty of elbow room for all. Aside for cheering for the guys when they come out of the tunnel I have little interest in attending this game. Will watch on TV and flipping channels often.

Because I'll be working storm possibly forever from the sound of things right now, I might need to ditch my tickets for this weekend. This is especially true if tomorrow's weather is as some forecasts are predicting. I am going to try a few family members first, but you may see some tickets posted on the spreadsheet later this week.

Well no one will be buying any of those seats for the 10 minutes you reserved the right to buy them for. You are single handedly going to ruin the 100,000 streak.

Meh, it's coming off a bad game following a perceived "bad times" for the program.  But honestly, who cares about attendance?  If the team plays in front of nobody but wins, I kinda doubt anybody would care about who is or who is not in the stands.

the same price of some movies. This shows Dave Brandon that there are unhappy fans and needs to start selling ticket prices for a more reasonable amount. I remember where me and my dad spent 50 dollars for a ticket at the 40 yard line and we thought that was a little expensive for the game we watched. Now they are charging 80 to 100 dollars minimum for those seats for the worst football team in the land. Dynamic pricing should change with the demand not what you want it to be Dave Brandon.

I won't even give them away--I want my two empty seats noticed.

This game should be boycotted--time for us all to send a message.
