Who do you think this quote can be attributed to?

Q: What's the worst thing about Michigan?

A: "The people. Actually, how disgustingly ugly the women are. It's awful. It's disgraceful. There were more good-looking women at my high school. It was awful."

Comes from an anonymous survey of the exiting football Seniors. There is also some interesting info in there about how many liked Rich Rod.

Interesting that less than half expressed a like of RR without the "as a person" qualifier while every one of them liked Hoke without qualification.

As a female who went to Michigan, I now feel like I failed. I mean, that's why I went to Michigan - to provide the football team with something nice to look at.

(Do I have to put that /s thing in?)

This flies in the face of my long-held assumption that college athletes are constantly surrounded by hot girls and can take their pick, any time, any place.

To be honest, U of M is sorely lacking in attractive girls, not that there aren't any, but by and large it lags behind most other large universities.  Pretty funny quote actually, maybe he was just trying to get a laugh.  The fact that it's been the stereotype about U of M girls for several decades makes me think the player was just playing off from that to get a rise out of some people.

The quotes about Michigan arrogance were more troubling to me.  You'd hope our football players wouldn't go there and showed a little more pride.

When compared to [insert another large state University] odds are we have a moderately lower percentage of attractive girls than they do.  When compared to USC, Arizona State, or Texas we're way below.  Of course I still married a girl with a Michigan degree.

Edit:  Great the guy above me has unclosed HTML tags.  Mods?

I can't find the source of the bleeding.

EDIT: Looks like someone solved the problem below

EDIT II: Whew. Now everyone is speaking at the appropriate level of urgency

I would add most of the SEC and Pac 10 to the list of the schools we are way below, but good point.  Good news is, Notre Dame is worse off than us with the attractive female ratio IMO.

Everytime I have been to AA I have seen a lot of good looking women. I dont know about the whole state and I may be a little spoiled living in Nashville but every state has ugly girls in it.

Honestly, even though I hail from Ohio, I have heard such rumors that attractive girls do not exist at UM. I don't believe it completely, seeing that there's what - 40,000 students? Gotta be sooooome soooooomewhere. But wouldn't this depend on where the player is from also? WolvinLA (first that comes to mind) could probably give credence to the fact that the West is full of hot women. There are probably more there than anywhere in the U.S., except perhaps parts of the South - but definitely more than the Midwest.

Liviing on OSU's campus, you will see your share of attractive women, but the one's who are attractive are GENUINELY hot most of the time. I have to wonder if Michigan carries this same type of "Midwest" girl, if you will.

Either way, it would be an automatic plus if I met a girl (grad or what have you) from Michigan. She's smart, she's classy, probably works hard, etc. Doesn't have to melt my eyeballs, but she could look like Kate Upton I guess.

I let my girlfriend read this thread/post. Laughed at the OP, now she's accusing me of wanting to search for other women after reading my post. My God...help?

I drive right through campus about twice a week, but I'm not a student and never was, so I can be fairly objective.

There are plenty of hot women at UofM. Walked downtown behind a girl the other day with legs that went all the way up. It only got better from there. I wish I had photographic evidence... for so many reasons.

I'm not from AA and have never stepped on campus so I want to preface this by saying I am no expert on the subject. Having watched all UM games on TV over the past many years and seeing the crowds on camera I have often been surprised at the lack of really gorgeous women at the stadium.

I am not saying they are all ugly by any stretch. I have seen many pretty girls and have seen very few (if any) "ugly" girls. What I have also seen very few of is the really "hot" girls. There are lots of girls that you might give a second look, but not tons you would walk a mile across broken glass to get the phone number for.

I contrast this with some of the other teams I have watched on TV and there do seem to be larger numbers of those really hot girls in other fan bases, but most of those are in the south and could be attributed to the clothes they are wearing to the game (not many girls look "hot" in parka's and winter hats).

I guess all I can say is I always expect to see more of the really hot women when watching on TV (considering it is UM and the student pop) and rarely do, but I don't see many "ugly" ones either.

To conclude, again this is based only on what I can see on TV which can hardly be considered a representative sample so take it FWIW.

I have seen some really hot girls at U of M, but I have noticed that they generally do not dress the way you see fans at LSU, Florida, Florida State, etc.  I don't know if it's because of the weather, the culture, the type of people who attend Michigan, or what.  But short skirts and cleavage just don't seem to be the way of the female Wolverines.

You get the double sweatshirt look from October to April some years. And that's a lot of the school year. It seemed when I was in school we got our first warm up the week of Finals in April, the clothes came off, and no studying was done after that. Well, there was studying, but not of the books I was pretending to read (even pretending to myself).

Culture is part of it too. You don't have the southern cotillion remnants in needed to look good and "lady-like", or the plastic-y, have to compete with Hollywood West Coast thing.

And yes, people who are equally concerned with becoming the President or curing Cancer probably have less time and interest in making sure everything is in place headed to class on a gray 42 degree day than someone who went to college to find a cute guy to marry.

Likewise, I'm guessing the sales of Ax body spray are way down on U-M's campus as opposed to places like East Lansing.

It's too bad Rothstein and the Free Press have to report this just to get news ratings.  Welcome to the Kardasianization of traditional media.  It's too bad someone said it as well.

By the way, you can find the hot ones...you just have to look harder.   And it's nice to be able to have an intelligent conversation when you do.   Ah, but that's what the hot/smart women are looking for too.
