As involved as Hoke is with the DL (and even Mattison), they still need a position coach who can spend more time with the DL. Hoke and Mattison have other responsibilities, too. Or, per Sam Webb, find an OLB coach so Mattison can spend more time with the DL.

There's nothing unusual about that, especially when your head coach is a defensive guy. Under Carr we always had three - one DL coach, one LB coach and one secondary coach.
Also, CFL jobs may not be nearly as lucrative as you think. Montgomery made $200K last season. I doubt Campbell's contract with the Als pays him that much.
