The White & Blue

<meta>This is not a criticism of Rich Rodriguez.</meta>

Why does Rodriguez wear a white-and-blue polo shirt during the games? I realize he doesn’t choose the team attire, but has anyone sent Addidas the memo? Michigan’s colors aren’t white and blue.

Everyone agrees that the program will have at least some changes during the offseason. I’d like to suggest a fairly easy one: dress the head coach in the team’s colors. Is that so difficult?

First of all, I believe we call that color "maize."

So you're saying that the maize outline on the logo of Lloyd's shirt is the difference between Michigan Tradition and OMG WTF ARE U DOING THIS IS MICHIGAN!!??1??

EDIT: What I meant to say was, "I don't think this is a particularly big deal at this time.  However, we thank you for your insight."  I don't know if the tone translated well when written out; it may have come across as if it were written by a gigantic dickhead.

Therefore, I'll respond sincerely.

You're right - the group can be brutal.  But read Blue in South Bend's comment above - and understand that it captures what everyone is thinking in reading your post (or at least what he thinks and I agree with him) .  See also Hail2's pictures.  Not too interesting a post when put that way.

So the brutal response can be warranted because it provides a disincentive from posting things that are not interesting (putting it lightly).  Hopefully, it makes you a better poster by giving a workout to that editor in your head that rejects a weak idea in anticipation of the brutality.

Don't take it personally. A person that's been following the program as long as you have is a great asset to the site, and younger folks like me appreciate your input and insight. Maybe not this particular insight, but everybody's got a thread they wish they could have back here and there.

Mark:

I would've followed you in school as my freshman year was 1978 (yeah John Wangler) and agree that the board can be pretty tough at times but try and remember that you are speaking to the hardest of hard core Michigan football fans.  These are not casual observers of the program, we are nutjobs that actually give a shit where some 16 year old is considering attending college in two years and will spend many happy hours during our workdays discussing Tate's GPA and Denard's ability to correcty execute the zone read option.

So starting a post about shirt colors the day after the program's most embarrasing  bowl loss in the history of Michigan football is kinda asking for it if you know what i mean.

I once killed a guy in a knife fight in Thailand

Wait... what?

Oh, no, it was in no way related to Michigan football.  I thought we were just sharing 'shit I probably shouldn't have done' stories.

I put myself firmly in the nutjob camp.  I spent last week in London for a family vacation and bought internet access so I could check the board for any CC updates/news.  And I scheduled our flight from New Jersey to Cleveland yesterday so I could find bar someplace in the Newark airport and watch the game.

Yeah...pretty nutty.  And pretty embarrased by what i saw yesterday btw but that's a post for a different thread  This is a thread about shirt colors.

Grew up in Pontiac, attended U of M from 1978 - 1981 and then left the state upon graduation due to the fact I was unable to secure one of the six jobs open in the state of Michigan in 1981.  Now live in the Cleveland area and have since 1987.  Have football season tickets and go to every home game and one away game every year.  Attended Rose Bowls in 1986, 1997 and 2004.  Went to final four in New Orleans in 1993.  Recruited from Michigan in the early 90's for Bob Chemel.  Great Grandfather was a U of M grad (dental school) as was Grandfather, Father and Brother (all Dentists).

More info than requested but given that it didn't involve CC I felt compelled to share.

...color is often based on the color of jersey worn by the team so as to contrast the HC with the players surrounding him.  This makes him easier to pick out from the playing field.

The last two threads you have started  1. Rich Rod era ends 2. Blue and White.

The first one was bad but by itself not completely stupid. Now pair it with this one and it is retarded, possibly functionally though, so keep your chin up.

Possibly the most ridiculous post in the long history of ridiculous internet nit-pickery. And so, therefore, a peculiar, if appalling, kind of awesome.

As much as I hate the pro combat nonsense, I really miss having the Nike gear generally. The older stuff had much nicer aesthetics and weren't obnoxious about dropping the three stripes into every design.
