While at the game MAKE NOISE
Just a friendly reminder to all that we are still running into Michigan State fans that call the Big House the “Quiet House.” They say, “how can 100,000 fans be so quiet?”
If you are going to the game on Saturday, it is your duty to be as loud as possible. Get behind and stay behind this team. Even one missed audible or false start could make the difference in stalling a Spartan drive and in a close game that could make the difference.
Lose your voice and mind, but stay classy. Clap, stomp, scream - go bizirk - when Cousins is behind center. If you want to go hardcore, bring a cowbell or pennies in a water bottle. Make every Spartan that is in attendance never use the expression the “quiet house” again.
If the team falls behind early, stay with them, boost them up with our noise. Our defense this season has played better in the second half and we will make a run if we get behind.
Win or lose, everyone that is attending the game must consider their personal day a failure if they weren’t helping out the team. Do not bring a Spartan with a spare ticket and wear maize. Get behind this team.

October 7th, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
Remember, if you speak the next day and anyone outside a two-foot radius can hear you, you haven't done your job. Abuse those vocal chords.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
If you tell me Down in front I will punch you in your face if you can't stand for the entire game STAY THE FUCK HOME! And get Denarded at home GO BLUE
October 7th, 2010 at 8:07 PM ^
You seem like an aggressive individual.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:22 PM ^
Get over yourself.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
He does have a combo of Rocky and wife-beating drunk Andy Capp in his name. Face punches are to be expected, I think.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
Flying up from Tampa, plan to not speak from Sunday - Tuesday becuase I will be screaming my @$$ off. The least we can do is give our boys a legit homefield advantage and be a 12th (and with the size of our stadium) a 13th man. All in yall - the entire game. GET UP AND GET LOUD!
October 7th, 2010 at 11:03 PM ^
Flying in from KC and plan to start being loud about 1:30 PM tomorrow! This will be my loudest outing in 20 years of attending games!
October 7th, 2010 at 11:28 PM ^
Make sure you stash lots of water because you can no longer bring a bottle in. That way you can maintain your stamina and cheer long for the whole game. It's supposed to be warm and sunny.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
FUCK THE ELDERLY BUNCH OF BITCHES THEY R WEEK ONLY SO THEY ARE EASIER TOO PUNCH IN THERE FUCKING OLD PRUNE EATING MOUTHS. I AM ANGAR!
October 7th, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
And put it in certain section of the big house *cough*
October 7th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
You mean all of them?
October 7th, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
I say every section minus Sections 25 to 32.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:34 PM ^
MSU fans have no right to blast our fans for not making enough noise after last seasons no show at Munn Ice Arena. At least our fans show up to the games, unlike Munn last year where UM fans came close to outnumbering the state fans in a playoff game. Next time any state fan brings up the "quiet house" to you, you remind them of that incident. Different sport and all, but same fanbase.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
Uh... have you been to Crisler? Pretty sure that will be their response back and it will be very valid. I'd suggest going in another direction.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:44 PM ^
Yes, but those are less important Big Ten games. Crisler was filled to the rafters for the NIT runs we've made in this decade. Make fun of the NIT all you want, but when the team has had success, the fanbase has come out in support of them. I want to say that that was the first time UM and MSU had met in the CCHA playoffs not at the Joe, they were favored to dominate us, and still no one showed.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
Pray tell, how do you plan on getting your water bottle inside the stadium?
October 7th, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
Technically empty water bottles are not banned. You can bring those in so that you can fill it up once inside from the drinking fountain...but rather add pennies from your wallet.
Additionally, water bottles can be purchased inside the stadium and are sometimes given away like at the UConn game.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
are not banned yet, but I hear that by 2011 they'll be restricting their entry into the stadium and will pass out miniaturized empty bottles at more locations and all concession stands.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
Earlier this year I thought I would find one of those drinking fountains and use it to refill my empty water bottle. The stream of water only cleared the spout by about one inch. It was not even high enough for me to tilt my water bottle past 90 degrees. I gave up and walked back to my seat unquenched.
October 8th, 2010 at 6:13 AM ^
The Nestle bottles are easy to squash but easy to get back their shape (roughly). You can bend the bottle at an angle and fill it up.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
i had the impression even empty bottles were not allowed
WATER BOTTLE POLICY
All bottles (including all types of water bottles) are prohibited from being brought into the stadium.
October 7th, 2010 at 11:18 PM ^
Step 1: Empty water bottle.
Step 2: "Crush" water bottle to make as flat as possible.
Step 3: Squeeze flattened water bottle between belt and body at the small of the back.
Step 4: Pull shirt overtop.
Step 5: Enter Michigan Stadium.
Step 6: Quench thirst, keep hydrated.
Step 7: Yell. Constantly.
Step 8: ???
Step 9: Profit! (M win).
Seriously though, I've done this everygame so far with not even a second glance.
October 8th, 2010 at 9:36 AM ^
Step 1.) Get Underpants
Step 2.) ......
Step 3.) Profit
-That's how the underpants gnomes in South Park did it....
October 7th, 2010 at 7:39 PM ^
This game is important enough (even though I hate to legitimize Sparty's claim to being relevant) that I am confident it will be crazy loud on Saturday. The one caveat is if we win the toss, defer and State scores easily on their opening drive (oh please god don't let that happen) then it could get much quieter.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
will do. imsof'nexcited/nervousforthisgamewowletsgoblue. those have been my thoughts for the last 3 days.
GO BLUE
October 7th, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
I cannot wait to be back in Ann Arbor and see us light Spary up!
October 8th, 2010 at 7:59 AM ^
Spary Nooo
October 8th, 2010 at 4:58 PM ^
My bad
October 7th, 2010 at 7:45 PM ^
if you are in section 12, and please don't ask me to sit down.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:50 PM ^
those same rules apply in section 6. haha
October 7th, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
One word: vuvuzelas.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
I tried bringing mine in for UConn and the cop said, no way...the stadium staff said no problem. Cop wins. I brought them in for several games last year with no problem.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
your section musta LOOOOOOVED you
October 7th, 2010 at 8:15 PM ^
they were louder than I expected actually.
As for the main post-I will leave all keys, coins, bottles, vuvuzelas, at home, BUT I will yell really loud every time the play clock starts while we are on D. Watch the playclock people, make noise while they are at the line of scrimmage AND in the huddle. Go Blue!
October 7th, 2010 at 7:50 PM ^
You, sir, are preaching to the choir.
October 7th, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
October 7th, 2010 at 8:05 PM ^
Considering that UM has the #73 defense in the nation at home and the #111 on the road, I say "Hell yes, it makes a difference".
UM is giving up almost 200 less yards at home than on the road.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:21 PM ^
I'd say that is more related to level of competition than anything to do with the game day environment, but that's just me.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:08 PM ^
If you rank the teams in terms of total offense, UM played 1, 3, and 5 at home and 2, 4 on the road.
October 7th, 2010 at 11:37 PM ^
I'd say that it is more related to the Defense being closer to Lloyd Brady at home games. He makes us all better people by his mere presence.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:52 PM ^
A false start, a delay of game, a misheard playcall by a wide receiver leading to him running an improper route. These can all be pivotal factors created by noise during an opponent's huddle.
October 7th, 2010 at 11:21 PM ^
I just neg bombed people for not getting sarcasm. Sorry, yo.
Our defense will MAKE PLAYS so long as RichRod FUCKS. SHIT. UP.
October 7th, 2010 at 11:41 PM ^
I appreciate your support.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
Plan on being extremely loud the ENTIRE TIME.
Much to my fiancee's (and probably people in my section) chagrin.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:32 PM ^
I'm not even going to the game...but I will be in ann arbor and I will be making A LOT of noise at my buddies place. GO BLUE!
October 7th, 2010 at 8:33 PM ^
That's a kinda obvious reminder, but why not. It's like telling a Spartan, "While at a potluck dinner, throw punches." In any event...can't wait for saturday...Go Blue!
October 7th, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
YELL, 'TIL YOU"RE BLUE!
October 7th, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
I've been telling my friends and family that if I come home with a voice, I consider it a failure. This week its not a suggestion but a way of life. I have been drinking tea and talking less than normal to make sure my voice is strong as possible.
Its going to be a good Saturday, lets make some Big Noise at the Big House.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
Love it man!
I've been intentionally speaking quite softly to people and have gotten some weird responses from people at work today. When they ask me if i'm sick, i just say "yes", because explaining it would take too much valuable vocal chord energy.
My fiancee thinks i'm f'n with her, and is getting pissed. It will all be worth it come Saturday, but either way, i'll have nothing left on Sunday.
